3D Printer: Part 2

Laurie Segal from CNN talks
about the 3D printer, you can print car
parts, casts, tools, even sunglasses. The
people say, “they want to make the 3D
printer a common thing, something that
everyone can have in their homes.”
Garrett was in critical condition. His
parents took him to the Michigan
hospital, and Green obtained another
emergency clearance from the FDA.
After doing a CT scan of Garrett's
trachea and bronchi, Hollister used a 3D
printer to create a splint out of a
biopolymer called polycaprolactone.
On January 31, Ohye sewed the splint
around Garrett's right and left bronchi to
expand his airway. The doctors say the
splint will be absorbed by Garrett's body
during the next three years as his
airways grow stronger. In the meantime,
Garrett is breathing easier and needs
less help from the ventilator. "It is a
tremendous feeling to know that this
device has saved another child," Hollister
said in the press release.
"We believe there are many other
applications for these techniques, but to
see the impact living and breathing in
front of you is overwhelming." "Severe
tracheobronchomalacia has been a
condition that has frustrated me for
years," added Green. "I've seen children
die from it. To see this device work, for a
second time, it's a major accomplishment
and offers hope for these children."

can print hearts and lungs, this is truly a
new beginning of mankind.
NFL new rules/year

Extra Point Rule
In the NFL they have changed the field
goal rules. Now for a field goal have to
kick the 15 yards away. nfl vice president
of officiating dean bland said “ Teams
can changed their attempts decision if a
penalty occurs.” For instance, if a team
chooses to go for a two point conversion
and is called for an offensive penalty,
they have a decision to go for a one point
try. Instead of kicking it from the two yard
line, they will kick from the fifteen yard
line.
Everyone has their own opinion
on the debate of Batman vs Superman.
In 2016, there will be a movie called “
Batman vs Superman”. 17 out of 23
students prefer Batman.
Both heroes have some of the
best villains of all time. Batman has
some of the best villains like the Joker,
Bane, and Poison Ivy. Superman has
some of the toughest villains ever also
like Darkseid, Lex Luthor, Doomsday.
Also both superheroes have
great gadgets and powers. Batman has
some of the best gadgets ever invented
like the Batmobile, Bataran, and a
grappling hook. Superman also has
some of the best powers like heat vision,
invincibility, and flying.
In the movie “Batman vs
Superman” the cast is full of lots of
superheroes but Batman and Superman
easily take the spotlight in this movie
environment. But the real question is,
who will win this epic battle between
these epic super heroes?
Mobile

Have you noticed that our
school now has a mobile? We asked Mr.
Parra to give us a tour of the new
building. He stated that he was happy
with the outcome of the project. “I have to
check to mobile at least twice a day to
make sure that everything is working
properly.” The gas runs from room 35 to
the mobile, the air runs from the
basement, and the electricity comes from
the gym.
The construction of the mobile
took around 2 months and once it was
done Mr. Parra took a look at it. “It was
not ready.” He realized the carpets were
ripped up, the walls were dirty, it was a
mess. However, Mr. Para started to clean
it up. He added new lights, walls, tables,
and a telephone line. After 9 weeks of
cleaning, the mobile was ready for use.
Multiple companies came to set up the
gas, air conditioning, and water.
We went deeper into this topic,
interviewing Savanna Drevon, a student
who has a class in the mobile. “I like it
because there is more space in the

school and it’s actually really nice.“ We
went on and asked her what the
downfalls would be and she said if you
have a drill such as a lockdown or a
tornado warning she said, “Wouldn’t
know what to do.” What do you think of
the new mobile?
California Drought

The California drought is one of
the biggest droughts in history. As stated
by CA.gov, “$30 million in rebates to help
replace old toilets and turf.” On August
18, 2015, the San Diego water board
cracks down leading to pollution.
However, there is some hope, very little
bit, but for California, they need all the
hope they can get for more water. A
climatologist has said, “ Historical
weather data shows us that at best, there
is 50/50 chance for having a wetter
winter. Because of this major drought,
California’s ground is sinking. Here is a
picture explaining why the ground is
sinking.
The water from underground is
decreasing, so the ground above is
basically caving in. Conserving water is
very important in California. They need to
not waste water, which most people do.
For example, people take around 30
minutes showers. Seriously, that’s way
too long for a shower and way too much
water wasted. Everyone should conserve
water by taking shorter showers, and
turning off the faucet when brushing your
teeth.
Pixar Movies of the future

out with some new and exciting films.
Some of them include, Pirates of the
Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales ,
Finding Dory, The Good Dinosaur, and
the next Disney princess, Moana.

Men Tell no Tales, is about Captain
Salazar (played by Javier Bardem)
persuades Captain Jack Sparrow (played
by Johnny Depp) as he looks for the
trident owned by Poseidon. This is the
fifth movie in the Pirates of the Caribbean
series and could be the best one yet. All
we have to do is wait till July 2017.
The Good Dinosaur
The Good Dinosaur is a Disney
Pixar film about an unlikely friendship
between a young dinosaur named
Arlo(Raymond Ochoa)and a boy. The
Good Dinosaur is an adventure and
Fantasy movie. The release date is
November 25, 2015.
Finding Dory
Finding Dory is the second sequel
of Finding Nemo but this time instead of
finding nemo, and where he went, Dory
went out on her own adventure to find
her parents. As you can see, Dory has
short term memory loss. The movie takes
place off the coast of California and six
months after Marlin finds Nemo. The
release date is June 17, 2017.
Back to the NFL

The NFL season is about to
start, and the quest to the Lombardi
trophy begins once again. Many different
people like many different teams
including teachers at this school. Mr.
Gibbons likes the Denver Broncos, Ms.
Leggett likes the Oakland Raiders , and
Ms. Torres likes the Seattle Seahawks.
Each person has different expectations
for their teams. Mr. Gibbons said, “12-4,
and win the Super Bowl over Seattle.”
Ms. Torres said, “I think they are kind of
high and good but not as good as the
past 2 years.’’ Ms. Leggett has different
expectations for her team. She said
“They're going to rock it! They’re going to
win 2 games” No matter we still all love
the game of football.
Ms. Leggett actually has a closer
connection to football. Her dad was a
player and a head coach along with her
brother who was a player for the saints.
This year, some teams have some tough
competition, and will play good games,
but in the end, only one can win. Football
season is always a great time of year and
it’s coming up again. Everyone can’t wait
and you won’t have to wait any longer
because the 2015-16 NFL season is
under way. Let’s go!
Deadpool Movie

Deadpool, an ex special
operatives man who was diagnosed with
cancer in the liver, lungs, prostate, and
brain. With no options, Wade Wilson is
suddenly offered to join the Weapon X
program (Yes, the same one Wolverine
was on) after he was given his powers of
regeneration, he was isolated to the
prison of Genosha. The inmates there
had a mosh pit of sorts called the
Deadpool (Hint hint, that’s where he got
his name). In the end, Wade and the
other inmates took over the prison and
escaped, and Wade took on the persona
of Deadpool. This movie will be his origin
story of woe.
Deadpool is a very interesting
because he is not a superhero nor a
super villain, he will do anything for
money, but if put in the situation, he
could save the universe from total
destruction. But with his personality and
his regeneration, he has become very
careless with fighting. Even when a
skyscraper fell on him, he still managed
to make a joke! Or when he was literally
melted, he got back up from that!

Deadpool is also known to
break the fourth wall, as in talking to the
audience. Somehow he’ll know if he is in
a game, movie, television show, even
once he even tore through his own comic
to check on something he forgot about.
His main weapons are his trusty rusty
twin katanas, double desert eagle pistols,
his teleportation belt, but he also carries
something called a cartoon bag. Have
you ever seen a cartoon character whip
an object out of nowhere, well Deadpool
can whip out a minigun or rocket
launcher from nowhere. Whether it be
going across the galaxy just for one
dollar or having a thoughtful talk with his
other two personalities Deadpool can be
a great superhero!

opponent on a mat that hasn't been
cleaned. You got it; wrestling season!
Ah, I can smell the energy drinks and
sweat now. Maybe you're thinking of
joining this year but not quite sure. Well
to help you make that decision we have
gathered info just for you.
An insider’s look to wrestling, the one
who makes it all possible: the wrestlers.
Every day after school you would go to
the gym and practice.
We interviewed Christian Drevon, a
second year wrestler here at our school.
He says, “You got to keep yourself
motivated and positive even when you
lose. If you have a negative mindset, you
don’t have a chance at winning. Keep
your teammates positive too. That’s the
key to it all. And even though we didn’t
win last year, we are determined to win
this year.”
