For this project, you will be summarizing some current articles concerning the United States
Congress. While you are completing your summaries, consider how actions by Congress are
relatable to the Constitution of the United States of America. I will give you a sample that we can
discuss together, so you understand what I am looking for.
The United States Constitution is the “supreme law of the land.” In the Preamble of the
Constitution, there are specific guidelines it addresses to form a peaceful and more perfect land
to live in. There are three specific topics it covers to achieve this goal.
We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union,
establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense,
promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and
our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of
America.
