other appropriate vehicle with comfortable seating, large windows for game viewing, a music and PA
system and air-conditioning. All luggage, besides hand luggage and photo equipment, is carried on
the vehicle or trailer roof racks to ensure maximum comfort in the vehicle.
Travelling Times and Distances: Travelling times can be affected by road conditions, border
crossings, detours and weather conditions, therefore on certain days travelling times may be longer
than anticipated especially where there is a considerable distance to be covered. Please bear in mind
that the time it takes to travel 100 kms in your home country is not necessarily equivalent to the time it
takes to travel 100 kms on African roads! We therefore encourage you to sit back and enjoy the
spectacular scenery Africa has to offer. Where possible additional stops will be made to ensure your
travelling comfort at all times.
Spending money: You should bring enough money to cover the purchase of curios, tips, alcoholic
and non-alcoholic drinks, water and additional entertainment. US dollars, pound sterling or South
African rands (at par) are the most practical and convenient currencies.
Meals: Where included, most breakfasts and dinners will be eaten in the restaurants of the various
accommodation establishments. Lunch packs are provided for driving days and excursions.
Alternatively, the guide will prepare lunch en-route.
First Aid: All guides are trained in basic first aid and the vehicle is equipped with a comprehensive
medical aid kit.
Luggage: The maximum baggage allowance is 15 kgs. This is strictly enforced as an overloaded
vehicle is a danger to both the clients and the guide. This does not include photographic equipment
and a small daypack. Please bring a backpack or soft barrel bag, rather than a suitcase. Don’t bring
too much clothing, as there are washing opportunities along the way. Please adhere to the allowance
specified as space for luggage is limited.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
Day 1
WINDHOEK
On arrival at Hosea Kutako International Airport in
Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, you will be met and
transferred to your accommodation for the night.
Your guide will meet you at the lodge and will take you on
a short orientation city tour of Windhoek.
The evening is spent at leisure, resting and recovering from
your journey.
Days 2 & 3
SOSSUSVLEI
On Day 2 you will make your way to the Namib Naukluft
National Park, home to probably the oldest desert in the
world.
On Day 3 you will visit the world’s highest sand dunes at
Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, which can reach heights of over
300m.
There will also be a stop at the Sesriem Canyon, which was
carved millions of years ago by the Tsauchab River.
Days 4 & 5
SWAKOPMUND
Day 4 will be spent driving through the Namib Naukluft
National Park on your way to Swakopmund. The NamibNaukluft Desert is home to some of the rarest plant and
animal species in the world.
On arrival in the coastal town of Swakopmund, you will be
able to take part in some of the many optional activities
available this afternoon and on Day 5. Alternatively, just
soak up the atmosphere of this quaint little German
town and enjoy its beauty and beaches.
Day 6
SWAKOPMUND TO CAPE CROSS SEAL COLONY, TWYFELFONTEIN & PETRIFIED FOREST
Today you will travel along the barren Atlantic coast to visit
Cape Cross – the largest breeding site of the Cape Fur
Seal.
Leaving the coastline behind, you will then head inland
across the desert plains for Twyfelfontein to see some of
the ancient Bushmen paintings and engravings.
Twyfelfontein was awarded the status of World Heritage
site in 2007, the first location in Namibia to be given this
award.
Days 7 & 8
ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK
This morning you will stop at the Petrified Forest, the trees
of which are estimated to be 250 million years old.
After this short stop-over, you will then travel to Namibia’s
best-known wildlife reserve – Etosha National Park.
You will then fill the rest of your time in Etosha, looking for
Africa’s Big Five (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard)
plus cheetah, wildebeest, giraffe, hyena, springbok, kudu,
gemsbok, eland – in fact, almost everything from aardvark
to zebra!
Day 9
WATERBERG PLATEAU PARK
This morning you will head to the Waterberg Plateau
National Park, via the Cheetah Conservation Centre in
Otjiwarongo, an internationally recognised centre for
research and education on cheetahs.
The Cheetah Conservation Fund is the world’s leading
organization dedicated to saving the cheetah in the
wild. Founded by Dr. Laurie Marker in 1990, CCF has
created a set of integrated programs aimed at
addressing the principal threats to the cheetah’s
survival in the wild.
CHEETAH FACTS
The cheetah is the world’s fastest land animal and Africa’s most endangered cat. Uniquely
adapted for speed, the cheetah is capable of reaching more than 110 kph in just over 3 seconds,
and at top speed their stride is 7 meters long. With its long legs, supple spine and very slender
body, the cheetah is quite different from all other cats and is the only member of its genus,
Acinonyx. The cheetah’s morphology and physiology allow it to attain the extreme speeds for
which it is famous, and it is often referred to as the greyhound of cats.
Day 10
WINDHOEK
Today you will leave the Waterberg Plateau behind and
travel back to Windhoek through some beautiful
countryside, with excellent photo opportunities, making
short stops en-route. On arrival in Windhoek, the rest of
the afternoon will be spent at leisure, with the opportunity
to explore a little of this fascinating city. The heart of
Namibia, Windhoek, has a unique charm due to its
harmonious blend of African and European cultures and
the friendliness of its people.
Dinner can be enjoyed in one of the many fabulous
restaurants in the city.
Day 11
END OF TOUR
Sadly all good things must come to an end and your
Namibia Lodge Safari ends after breakfast today.
You will be transferred to Windhoek Airport in time to
check in for your onward flight. Once checked in, there
plenty of comfortable seating areas around the airport and
the shopping facilities within the departure lounge are
equal to any other international airport, giving you the
perfect opportunity to catch up on last minute shopping for
gifts and souvenirs.
We hope you will join us again soon for another of our African adventures!
