MINI MAXLOCK EXTREME
™
Small Plate and Screw System
™
The MINI MAXLOCK™ EXTREME™ is a mini plate and screw system intended to stabilize and aid
in the repair of fractures, fusions, and osteotomies for small bones and bone fragments. The
low-profile, 1 mm plates come in a variety of shapes and sizes to meet surgeon preference
and patient anatomy. The MINI MAXLOCK™ EXTREME™ plates contain TRIDBRID™ Technology
which allows for three screw options: non-locking, fixed angle locking, and variable angle
locking. The screws in the MINI MAXLOCK™ EXTREME™ system have a HEXSTAR™ drive that
reduces the chance of stripping and a blunt tip that reduces tendon abrasion.
Mini ORTHOLINK™ Plates
These small, resourceful plates offer a combination of
locking, non-locking, and compression holes that can
be used in various forefoot and hand applications.
T-plate/H-plate
These practical plates have locking and nonlocking capabilities, and can be used for a variety of
applications including cuboid fractures, metatarsal
osteotomies, TMT fusions, and more.
Mini Y-plate
These versatile plates can be used for a variety
of procedures. One or two slots are available for
compression in both Alpha and Beta versions. The
offset ears allow for multiplanar fixation.
Mini Universal Plates
The unique design of these plates allows for multiplanar
fixation. One or two slots are available for compression.
The plates are Alpha/Beta hybrids and can be rotated
180° to change the location of the offset ears.
2
2.0 mm, 2.4 mm and 2.7 mm Non-locking Screws can be
configured in the system to accommodate a variety of preferences
and patient types. All the screws provided in the MINI MAXLOCK™
EXTREME™ are hybrid screws to increase purchase and enhance
pullout strength.
2.4 mm and 2.7 mm Fixed Angle Locking Screws can be
configured in the system to create a locked construct at an angle
that is typical to most fixation patterns.
2.4 mm Variable Angle Locking Screws combined with the Mini
PEEK Ring, made from PEEK-OPTIMA polymer, can be inserted
into the locking holes of all MINI MAXLOCK™ EXTREME™ plates.
The PEEK Ring comes preassembled with a disposable driver.
When the 2.4 mm variable locking screw is inserted, it interfaces
with the PEEK Ring to create a locked construct. The construct
can allow for up to 30° of conical freedom while providing rigid
fixation. The custom drill guide aids in angle selection.
Surgeons base their screw choice on patient needs and bone
quality. If a surgeon inserts a PEEK Ring with a variable angle
screw, and then decides to remove it due to the patient’s
needs, the plate is still useable and will not be damaged due
to the removal. Note that the PEEK Ring is no longer usable
after removal.
Instrumentation
The system contains a variety of instrumentation that aids in the ease of use of the system. The
instruments are ergonomically designed for comfort and to reduce s urgeon f atigue. The unique
design of the drill guides is color coded to coordinate with the drill bits and screws as well as to
allow options while maintaining simplicity.
