Sol Cinema brings their unique solar powered cinema experience to Swansea Castle. The Sol
Cinema is a unique mobile cinema in a vintage caravan powered entirely by Solar energy.
Turning the Sun into fun! Audiences are treated to red carpet, usherette service and popcorn
for a unique cinematic experience. Their staff are experienced performers who add a fun
dimension to the Sol Cinema experience. The Sol Cinema has been lavished with pride and
vintage style and use a state of the art LED video projector showing short movies in plush
surroundings.
Visitors to Sol will get 10% off at Cinema & Co this weekend and go into the draw for a pair of
free tickets.
Café Piccolo are bringing Fabio their converted Piaggio Ape 'tuk tuk' style van with a coffee
machine fitted inside to serve their top quality, speciality, locally-sourced tea and coffee while
you wait your turn for Sol.
Copper will be setting up their pop-up bar next to Sol Cinema and giving out tasters of Boss
Brewing beers to movie-goers. Once you’ve seen your film, pop in to Copper for Oktoberfest
with live music!
Breakout Live Swansea is Wales’s premier Escape game. Immersed in teams of 2-6, you have
60 minutes to find the clues, solve the puzzles and (hopefully) Escape!

Exclusive showing of Exposé by artist Ally Jay Phillips
Born in Swansea, Ally pursued various academic disciplines prior to embarking on the Art
Foundation Course at University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Graduating in 2015, specialising
in fine art and ceramics, Ally's practice seeks to incorporate her diverse educational
background in a number of disciplines including ceramics, tapestry, drawing, painting and
printmaking. Ally's work is highly political and has been shown in several exhibitions in
Swansea. Her work is feminist in nature and is interested in the portrayal of femininity
throughout history, from ancient fertility figures to how the female form is presented in
contemporary society.
Ally is hosting a special evening viewing of her work as part of the Purple Flag activities. All
welcome.

Exist are a not for profit indoor skate facility that offers skateboarding, scooter and bmx
sessions at a reasonable cost in a safe controlled environment. Beginners, girl only, under 10’s

adult/guardian consent.
Family Friday at the LC Swansea. The Waterpark, play area, Boardrider and climbing wall are

Once you’ve sampled their beers at the castle, visit Copper, where they will be holding an
Oktoberfest party from Friday through to Sunday. They will have on offer 8+ Oktoberfest
beers, including a special from their brewery, Boss Bavaria. There will be live music on Friday
and Saturday nights from 9pm as well as an open mic night on the Sunday from 6pm. They will

Fluellen Theatre Company presents Macbeth
Sleep no more... Macbeth doth murder sleep. September sees Shakespeare 400 delve into
altogether less pleasant territory, with murder, madness and witchcraft in Macbeth. When the
three weird sisters prophesise that Macbeth will become king of Scotland, to what tragic
lengths are he and his wife prepared to take fate into their own bloody hands to prove them
right?
Film Screening: Purple Rain
To celebrate the Swansea Big Weekend and the Purple Flag Award, Cinema & Co is screening
the iconic film Purple Rain.
The 1984 American rock musical drama film stars Prince in his acting debut, playing a quasibiographical person called "The Kid." Purple Rain was developed to showcase his talents and
hence contains several extended concert sequences. The film grossed more than US$68
million at the box office in the United States and over 80 million worldwide. A must for Prince
fans.
Cinema & Co is about watching great films in good company. In the High Street space they
have their very own 50 seater Cinema, a love for all things film, a unique gallery space, and a
bar selling food, wine and award winning Welsh beers from local breweries.

This brand new show full of award-winning music, nostalgic footage and special memories of
Andy Williams will touch your heart. Jimmy Osmond began his performing career at the tender
age of three with Andy Williams on his television series. This year marks Jimmy's fiftieth
anniversary in show business. Jimmy will sing the songs that made Andy Williams so beloved
by millions including Music To Watch Girls By, Happy Heart, Can't Take My Eyes Off You,
Almost There, May Each Day, Days Of Wine And Roses, and, of course, the song that was to
become his theme tune, Moon River. The youngest member of the world-famous Osmond
family is joined by The Moon River Band with special guest stars Charlie Green and Emily
Penny, and, naturally, a show with an Osmond would not be complete without some of the
chart-topping hits that made Jimmy and his brothers famous. Come and relive the dream with
Jimmy Osmond singing the songs of Andy Williams.

Throughout the Summer months, shoppers are entertained by the Creative Bubble Summer
Stage. Showcasing some of Swansea’s finest talent – bands, singers, poets and dancers. This is
in collaboration with Swansea BID, Busk til Dawn and Santander. Two UWTSD Business
students have coordinated the activity.
The grand finale will take place on the Saturday of The Swansea Big Weekend and will wave
goodbye to a fabulous summer of entertainment.

Drawing with Light
All welcome to this free pop-up family workshop will have you photographing your very own
light drawings. Learn the technique at the workshop and then explore Swansea city in the
evening taking photos on your smartphone of light drawings as you go. Share them with us on
Instagram using our special hashtag.
Elysium Gallery will be opening late and providing light refreshments to celebrate Swansea

The Little Party of Welsh Culture
To celebrate the launch of Mark Rees’s new book The Little Book of Welsh Culture, Galerie
Simpson are hosting The Little Party of Welsh Culture, an informal and relaxed couple of hours
of Welsh storytelling, music, art and beer. Hosted by Kev Johns, the event will feature ancient
tales from the Mabinogion courtesy of storyteller Owen Staton; live art created on the night
by artist Rosie Scribbler; classic Dylan Thomas stories from Dylan aficionado Mark Montinaro;
a Welsh beer tasting challenge with Swansea food expert Chris Carra; and a special visit from
Jeff Towns and his Dylans Mobile Bookstore. Come along for an eclectic mix of talk, song,
stories – and Welsh cakes! Free

For the 2016 Swansea International Festival opening concert, La Serenissima fuse the grace
and elegance of the baroque with the drama of a symphony orchestra and the energy of a

Film Screening: The Color Purple
The Color Purple is a 1985 American period drama film directed by Steven Spielberg and
written by Menno Meyjes, based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name by

audience with a hilarious array of shapes and impersonations which will be projected onto a
huge video screen. This latest incarnation comes fresh from sin city itself, Las Vegas, where
the show has been thrilling audiences. This show will feature all of your favourites, including
the Eiffel Tower, the Lochness Monster, the Pelican and of course, the iconic Hamburger, but
will also include a host of new installations that promise to rock you into hilarious fits of
laughter.
