In general it also has lower concentrations of people from populations at higher risk of diabetes. At the Tipping Point: Diabetes in Quebec Best Practices/Developments since 2005 • QC introduced a strategy to enhance access to bariatric surgery (2009). • QC’s Investir dans l’avenir (Invest in the Future) program is designed to provide healthier food in schools and more physical activity aimed at children. • QC has diabetes education programs targeted at Aboriginal populations and reports tracking of diabetes among Aboriginal populations. • Budgets for diabetes education have increased substantially in the majority of regions in QC.
