This was dental hygiene instructor, Rhonda Weatherbie’s twelfth year of participation and the fourth year that she has taken FHTC dental hygiene students. The event fulfills part of the students’ Clinic IV requirements and gives them an opportunity to observe and participate in a variety of dental care needs. “Students are exposed to extreme conditions and makes them more aware of situations they may encounter in the workforce. It’s also a great opportunity to network with many dental professionals,” says Weatherbie. All together, volunteers provided 1,041 patients with $1,102,222 in care, a little over $1,000 in patient care provided free for those in need of dental health care.
