CALL FOR ARTISTS! NDSU STUDENT ART 2010 An Exhibit at the Memorial Union Gallery January 14-February 24, 2010 ELIGIBILITY: This show is open for entry to all current NDSU students, undergraduate or graduate, working in any medium. As for content, the decision of the MUGallery Coordinator is final regarding entry to the show. All work must have been completed in 2009. Artists must provide name, mailing address, email address, phone number in addition to identifying information for each artwork-in print on site, accompanying the submitted artwork(s) and, *prior to delivery to the Gallery* electronically. SUBMISSION DEADLINES AND GUIDELINES: Digital images of submitted works and entry information must be received by Dec 11, 2009. - Each artist may submit up to two original works. 2D work should be no larger than 6ft x 6ft. There may be a chance for exceptions as determined by the gallery coordinator. - Each 2D piece must be framed or have finished edges and be ready for hanging- D-rings or eye screws and wire. -Sculpture must be no taller than 12ft including stand/pedestal. -An accompanying e-mail must be sent to Esther Hockett, Gallery Coordinator, at esther,[email protected] and include artist’s name/title/media/measurements/ price, contact e-mail address, and phone number. Photos of each piece of artwork for consideration must be submitted via e-mail, *pior to delivery to the Gallery*, as a high quality JPEG/JPG image for juror, record-keeping, and publishing purposes. All pieces that are chosen must be delivered by January 12, 2010. Pieces that remain at the Gallery without further arrangements will become property of the Memorial Union Gallery. Rusty Freeman: Rusty Freeman Director of Visual Arts Cedarhurst Center for the Arts, Mount Vernon, Illinois. Previous Director of Exhibitions and Chief Curator of the Plains Art Museum.During his eight year tenure at the museum he has curated three major exhibitions featuring local artists: A Considered View: The Photography of Wayne Gudmundson (2007), Duane Hanson: Portraits from the Heartland (2004) and The Walter Piehl, Jr. Retrospective (2003). Freeman received his Master of Arts in History of Art specializing in modern and contemporary art from the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. AWARDS: Artwork will be installed at the Memorial Union Gallery for exhibit from January 14-February 24, 2010. Two monetary Prizes will be awarded to the winninge entries as determined by the jury. Other prizes may be awarded.
