PRIME DISPATCH Edition 31 – 1 October 2014 Compiled by joe o’neill PATINACK DISPERSAL SALE The results of the Patinack Dispersal Sale were very strong. I was lucky enough to purchase three horses from the sale. The first was a racemare named Another Prayer which I purchased for a client for $160,000. She was a good buy and heads back to John Thompson to train her. She is a progressive staying type. The second was a very good colt by Husson out of Makybe Diva’s ¾ sister Bakarje Diva by Redoute’s Choice and the 3rd another strong Husson colt out the Pins mare Poplars, a half sister to last Sunday’s Caulfield place getter Chiquada. The Husson Bakarje Diva colt was snapped up by and fully subscribed within an hour of me purchasing him. Over the past couple of years I have supported Husson quite strongly and was very encouraged by the results from the yearling section of the sale which was dominated by Husson. He had eight of the twelve yearlings to fetch over $100,000. He had some outstanding yearlings on offer out of very good mares with some of the best judges in Australia buying them. In fact he had four lots sell for over $200,000 with the highest being $260,000. We also saw the Husson mares Peron, Sister Souss and Mittle Miss Smiley sell for $610,000, $330,000 and $160,000 and Pop’n’Scotch went for $220,000. I have sent 5 of the mares I manage to Husson in the current breeding season which certainly looks a good move now. In many ways this dispersal sale will be welcomed by many in the industry who had Aaissues with Nathan Tinkler but from my perspective I feel for the loyal staff who worked hard to put Patinack Farm together and I feel they can be very proud of their achievements. A I am pleased I chose Husson early in his stud career and hopefully I will be able to offer my clients more progeny of the sire in future but I’m certain on what I witnessed at the Gold Coast and more to the point who was keen to buy them that we are unlikely to be buying nice horses like Husson Eagle or Raido for around $40,000 in the near future. Page 1 HUSSON (ARG) COLT OUT OF POPLARS (NZ) PATINACK DISPERSAL SALE The colt pictured above may well prove to be the best value buy at the Patinack Dispersal Sale. As a type he was on par with some of the colts that fetched in excess of $100,000. He is a nice, well balanced colt by a young stallion that took all before him at the sale. I have decided to send him to Charlie Goggin and Leuella Meaburn and along with the Husson Senro Kisaki rounds out the two yearlings I am buying for our Tasmanian operation. The colt pictured above will be a ten share syndication @ $3,950 per share. More details next week. ON THE TRACK Once again we have some chances over the next few days with the Husson filly Arrayanes kicking things off tomorrow at Bendigo. On Friday we head to Kyneton with Maraska and Sitkamose wearing our colours. On Saturday we have our first two year old runner for the season with Atalanta Miss lining up in Adelaide. She is a lovely filly. Hijack Hussy is running at the big Gold Coast meeting with the new stakes money levels in Queensland kicking in which a great. Page 2 On Monday Pitt Street heads to Muswellbrook for a nice Country Cup and Tera Amata is a chance to run at Randwick although this is yet to be confirmed. Good luck to our owners. DAVID HAMMILL I was sad to hear of the passing of David Hammill earlier in the week. He was a great fellow and helped me quite a bit when I first moved to Melbourne. I will be attending his funeral tomorrow and our thoughts go to his family. RACEDAY AT ROYAL RANDWICK Last year we had a fantastic day at Royal Randwick and it will be on again on 13 December in the Grandview Restaurant. We have 24 positions available @ $200 per head which includes member’s tickets lunch and a drinks package. It will be first in best served basis. Email me if you would like to attend. This is the Villiers meeting. [email protected] Husson Eagle winning at Bendigo!!!! Page 3 SYNDICATION OF THE WEEK HUSSON / SENRO KISAKI FILLY 2013 The filly This filly is amongst the most athletic fillies I have inspected in recent times. She is beautifully balanced and gets around very well. She has a good head and is strong through the shoulder and has a great hindquarter on her. Page 4 She looks to me as though she will get up and running early which is a great advantage in Tasmania. The most important asset apart from the fact she is a great type is that she represents the very best cross that both Hussonet and Husson have achieved with her being out of a Danehill Dancer mare, a son of the great Danehill. Husson The filly is by Hussonet’s best son at stud in Husson and is a product of one the most potent crosses in Australia today. When Hussonet and now his sons are put over Danehill line mares mares the results have been amazing. Danehill line mares mated with Husson have the stakes horses Hussousa, Affable, Will Be Amazed, Sister Souss, Peron, Hi Son, Star Of Husson and Little Miss Smily. There is also a filly Go Again which held the 900m record at Sandown out of a Danehill Dancer mare. Husson's sire Hussonet also has similar success with the Group 1 winners Reaan, Eagle Falls, Gold Trail and Group and stakes winners Colorado Claire, Miss Darcey, Step it Up, Karacatis, Latin News, Members Joy, Rose Of Peace, Werd, Hussy By Choice, Walk With Attitude, Dirty and Moonlight Hussler coming out of Danehill or his son's daughters. It should be remember Hussonet came to Australia as a relatively old horse with his first crop of yearlings in Australia being born in 2004. His first crop in Chile were dropped in 1995. He is a super stallion and was brought to Australia by John Messara to be used as a suitable cross with the large number of Danehill line mares in this country. Once again Messara was right on the money!!! I have a very good filly with Tony Gollan named Hijack Hussy by Hussonet out of a Redoute's Choice mare. She was a metropolitan winner last season and looks stakes class. The only other Hussonet filly I purchased was the stakes winner Huiskes. Senro Kisaki Senro Kisaki is a very well bred mare by the up and coming broodmare sire Danehill Dancer. Danehill Dancer has improved each year in the past four years on the Broodmare List from 131 to 23th position this year and I’m confident this trend will continue. This is Senro Kisaki’s 3rd foal. Her first foal was a High Chaparral filly and her 2nd foal is a very promising colt by I Am Invincible which was purchased by Harry Mitchell from Yarraman Park. This I Am Invincible colt is heading to Kris Lees to train and will be retained to race by Yarraman Park. Finally, I am thrilled to have secured this filly and can’t wait for her to race. 10 Shares @ $5,350 each with 5% shares @ $2,675 Only 4 remain Charlie Goggin and Leuella Meaburn to train Page 5 BAY FILLY Foaled 20th October, 2013 Mr Prospector Hussonet Sacahuista Sire: Husson 2003 Roy Villa Elisa Weekend Dancer Dam: Senro Kisaki 2004 Danehill Danehill Dancer Mira Adonde Page 6 Raise a Native Gold Digger Raja Baba Nalees Flying Flag Fappiano Adlibber Masqued Dancer Domingada Danzig Razyana Sharpen Up Lettre d'Amour 8-f 13-c 3-l 9-f 16-a 13-c 3-d 2-e 7-a 2-d 5-i 22-b Hoist the Flag 5-i Princess Pout 2-s Liefling Storm Bird 4-j Mata Cara Fatah Flare 4-m By HUSSON (ARG) (Ch. 2003 - Stud 2008) Stakes-winner; won 5 races and $100,355 inc.
