gives you a broad choice of materials available in modular and
assembled options that let you exercise your design muscles while
providing stylish storage solutions. Multiple work surface depths
and standard and tall storage options make Kindle adaptable to any
space and footprint!
Diverse
Kindle is a series that is available in laminate, mixed materials and
is fit for virtually any application. For executive suites, you can dial
it up with tall storage to accommodate any executive’s work style
and aesthetic goals. Kindle also addresses teaming applications by
providing a similar look and feel using laminates or mixed materials
while lowering your total project costs. The ability to specify different
door materials gives the designer/specifier the ultimate in design
options.

With full extension on all drawers, miter fold laminate drawer
construction or English dovetail wood options, PVC or edge on

INTRODUCTION
TOPS:
Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL): Kindle TFL tops are 1-1⁄8” thick and feature a 3 ply balanced panel
construction with PVC banded edges.
High Pressure Laminate (HPL): Kindle HPL tops are 1-1⁄8” thick and feature a 3 ply balanced panel
construction with PVC banded edges.
LAMINATE TOP EDGES:
Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL) or High Pressure Laminate (HPL) Tops: PVC edges with Ridge,
Soft or I Beam profile.
Desktops feature the selected edge detail on user and approach side, with all other edges Soft
profile. Credenzas, returns and bridges have the selected edge detail on user side, with all other
edges Soft profile.

Thermally Fused Laminate (TFL) available in Autumn Cherry II, Cafelle, Cordovan Cherry, Shaker
Cherry, Sienna Cherry, Harvest Maple, Kensington Maple, Colombian Walnut, Walnut Heights,
Skyline Walnut, Studio Teak, Frosty White, Slate Grey, Grey Cloud and Monterey Beige.
High pressure laminate (HPL) available in Autumn Cherry II, Cafelle, Shaker Cherry, Harvest Maple,
Kensington Maple, Colombian Walnut*, Walnut Heights*, Skyline Walnut*, Studio Teak*, Frosty
White, Slate Grey, Grey Cloud, and Monterey Beige.
Laminate units that are wider than 60” will have horizontal grain.
CHASSIS CONSTRUCTION:
All units are reinforced with cams, dowels and metal brackets. All base units have adjustable
leveling glides to compensate for uneven floor surfaces. Drawer and Door fronts are full overlay.
DRAWER CONSTRUCTION TYPE:
Drawer fronts are attached separately to the fully assembled drawer boxes. Drawer fronts are
available in laminate matched sets.
Standard construction: Four sided, miter folded laminate box. Drawers are built with 1/2” laminate
sides and 3/16 bottoms.
Optional construction: Four corner, English dovetailed wood box. Finished with three-step
catalyzed varnish to seal the grain and provide a smoother inner surface. Drawers are built with
7⁄16” wood sides and 3⁄16” wood bottoms.
DRAWER SUSPENSION:
File drawers utilize a heavy duty full extension metal ball bearing slide for smooth operation. Box
drawers operate on full extension slides allowing complete access to the drawer.
FILE DRAWERS:
File drawers ship with a filing system. Letter width file drawers accommodate letter or legal filing.

LOCKING:
Pedestal locking is standard on desks, credenzas, returns and modular units.
DRAWER HARDWARE:
Four pull styles are available in Matte Chrome & Matte Black finish. Specify style and finish when
ordering.
METAL SUPPORTS:
Only available in Alloy.
HINGES:
Hinges are European style and are easily adjustable in the field.
OPTIONS:
Kindle desks are full pedestals. Kindle is available as assembled components or modular
components.

up on drawer front. Set drawer aside.

Installation (Sliding Door):
Adjustment
1) Locate Sliding Door Guides on the back of door (Upper & Lower Guides).
2) Ensure that the upper guide is fully engaged in the top position.
- If it is in the top position go on to step 3.
- If it is not in the top position then using your finger push in,
and then up the switch until it reaches the top position.
3) On the Lower Guide use a Flat head screw driver to turn red adjustment screw.
4) Ensure that the door now slides freely.
Removal
1) Locate Upper Guides.
2) Disengage Guide by pushing switch in and then down with your finger.
(Remember to do both Upper Guides)
3) Using your hands grab the sliding door pulling top out towards you.
Then lift the door out.
4) Reverse Process to reinstall door.

inner attach point on the main rail for the inner rails.

attach L brackets to the two inner rails using #8 x 5/8” screws provided.
2) On the holes for the inner rail option you chose, insert mini fix studs
using a Phillips screw driver into the top and bottom holes.
3) Now fill the middle hole between the mini fix studs from above with a
wood dowel.
4) Place the inner rails on the mini fix studs and dowels so that the main
rail and inner rails are now connected.

5) Insert cams into the holes on the side of the inner rails, and turn them
into the closed position using a Phillips screw driver.
6) Place double sided tape on the underside of all the rails. And finish off
assembly by inserting edge grommets.
Attachment
1) Lay top face down on soft surface to prevent scratching.
2) Position filler box with L brackets down on the underneath side of the
top, 2 1/2” from the short edge of top, and centered between the long
edges.
3) Attach through the L brackets into the top using #8 x 5/8” screws
provided.
4) Remove wax paper from double sided tape. Be aware tape is hard to
reposition once down, be sure of position before placing on top of lower
unit.
5) With help from at least one other person flip top over and place onto
lower unit in user specified location.
NOTE: Before step five it is recommended that you attach support to
the opposite side while top is still able to be down. Reference instruction
sheet for other support to be used. Do not leave opposite side
unsupported after step five is complete.

Purpose:
To attach filler panel to modular unit.
Installation (Filler Panel):
1) Using the first Illustration to the right as a guide, position the top of the
bottom L Bracket approximately 5” from the bottom of the Filler Panel.
Position the top of the middle L Bracket approximately 14” from the bottom of
the Filler Panel. Position the top of the top L Bracket approximately 4” from
the TOP of the Filler Panel.
-NOTE: Beware of Cam and MiniFix Position in back panel of unit to be
attached to.
2) Attach the L Brackets to the Filler Panel using the #8 x 5/8” screws provided.
3) Place the Filler Panel into position on the modular unit. Ensure that the Filler
Panel is flush with the unit, both on the TOP EDGE and SIDE.
4) Keeping the Filler Panel flush, attach the other side of the L Brackets using
the #8 x 5/8” screws provided.

Double Sided Tape (0800530350)
Purpose:
To attach paper storage support to modular unit.
Installation:
1) Cut and place double sided tape on the contact surface on
the bottom of the metal support. And remove wax paper
exposing adhesive.
NOTE: Tape is very sticky and hard to remove once in place,
be cautious of this as you continue install.
2) Place the top of the metal support on the bottom of the unit
so that the back and side edges are flush.
3) Attach metal support with #8 x 3/4” screws provided.
WARNING: Hanging cabinet must be attached to wall, or
adjacent cabinet with P-SK1600 Suspension Kit. For

Installation:

in both directions.
NOTE: For tops with curves, think of an imaginary line from

NOTE: Use the countersunk holes only. There will be three
non countersunk holes not used.
4) With the help of at least one other person flip top over and
place support legs on lower unit in the users designated
position.
NOTE: Before step four it is recommended that you attach
support to the opposite side while top is still able to be down.
Reference instruction sheet for other support to be used. Do
not leave opposite side unsupported after step four is
