Scotia Scholar Award *
2013-14 Funded Recipients
The Scotia Scholar Award* is a funding opportunity available under our Research Trainee Funding
Program. The Scotia Scholar Award *is intended to provide financial support to high caliber trainees
engaged in health research related academic study at Nova Scotia universities. The goal of the Scotia
Scholar Award is to support the development of the next generation of highly qualified health
researchers and leaders in the Nova Scotia health research enterprise.
This funding opportunity is designed to support individual research trainees as a way to encourage
continued interest in careers in health research. Applicants were evaluated based on their past
academic, leadership, and research achievements. The award is tenable only at eligible Nova Scotia
universities. Each eligible university was allocated a pre-determined number of scholarships.
