The Bundeswehr Institute of Radiobiology affiliated to the University of Ulm will be
hosting ConRad 2017, Global Conference on Radiation Topics Ͳ Preparedness, Response,
ProtectionandResearch”(22ndNuclearMedicalDefenceConference)fromMonday8thto
Thursday11thofMay2017inMunich,Germany.

This biennial conference brings together a broad spectrum of German and international
experts (civilian/military) and provides a forum for professional and multidisciplinary
exchangeofexperienceandexpertiseinthisparticulardomainofradiationsciences.Please
feel free to distribute this invitation to any of your colleagues who might be interested in
attending.
As in 2015 there will be two key sessions introduced with a brief overview followed by
several key lectures: The first one will give an update on the concept of “Biomarker of
exposureandbioindicatorofeffect”.Thesecondkeysessionwillsummarizeandupdatethe
currentknowledgeofthe“Effectsofelectromagneticfields”.
The conference will also provide an update in the fields of radiation protection, radiation
accidentmedicalmanagementandradiobiology/radiationphysics.
Thereisthepossibilityforfreepresentationsandposters.Abstractsarewelcomeandcanbe
submitted starting midͲSeptember 2016! A scientific committee will be established and
evaluateallabstractsforsuitabilityandquality.Pleasenote,deadlineforallonlineabstract
submissionswillbeNovember,30th2016.
TheofficialconferencelanguageisEnglish.SimultaneousGermanͲEnglishtranslationwillbe
provided.
Approval of CME (Continuing Medical Education) credit points has been applied for at the
MedicalAssociationofBavaria.
AccommodationwillbeavailableforparticipantsattheBundeswehrMedicalAcademyfrom
Monday 8th May to Thursday 11th, 2017. Only limited rooms will be available from
Sunday 7th to Friday 12th. Please note: Military accommodation is not free any longer. It
will becharged with about 10.00 € per night(without breakfast) for civilian attendees not
beingemployeesofarmedforces/military.Furtherdateailswillbegivenontheconference
homepageassoonaspossible.SincetheMilitaryMedicalAcademyhasalimitednumberof
rooms,pleaseletusknowasearlyaspossibleifyourequireaccommodation.Additionally,a
contingent of hotel rooms, centrally located in Munich, is reserved to be booked on your
own expenses (for details please refer to our homepage). The social evening of the
conferencewillbeheldonTuesday,May9th2016.
