SLOW DOWN FOR ADVENT
Advent is meant to be a time of quietude and prayer as we prepare to
celebrate Christ's birth. Yet, December tends to be the busiest month
of the year. I recommend that as a parish we try to eliminate as many
evening meetings as we can during December. Try to get all your
business done in November to free up December to be with our families, attend the Advent Penance Service, or go and look Christmas
lights. Finally, try to schedule Christmas parties during the Christmas
season. Let's not be all partied out before Christmas even gets here.
Just some recommendations.
PRAISE & WORSHIP
Open call for musicians and singers interested in performing praise
music! Mike Schaller will begin hosting monthly praise jams after the
new year. These jams will be open to any and all who wish to come.
First jam meets on Friday, Jan 6, from 7-9 pm in the conference room
in the NW corner of the church. Bring your gear. Keyboard already on
site. Music provided. Contact Mike Schaller, 208-697-8236.

EASY WAY TO SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN
For the month of December, Blimpie’s will be offering $1 of every purchase made with a special voucher up to $2,000 for our Building on
Faith: Growing to Serve campaign. The vouchers are available at the
back of Church. Take as many vouchers as you want and remember
to present them at either Blimpie’s locations in Nampa to help contribute to our campaign!
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
St. Vincent de Paul here in Nampa serves the needy in two ways. We
“Feed the Hungry” giving out food at the Food Pantry, and “Help the
poor” in the Outreach, which gives assistance to utility bills. There is a
great need during the winter in our area. We now have donation envelopes available in the Narthex of the church. You may drop your
sealed envelope in the collection basket, take it to the Rectory, or mail
it. Any offering during this Advent Season would be greatly appreciated! Help us help those in need by visiting www.svdpid.org to give to
St. Vincent de Paul of Nampa, Idaho.
DECK THE HALLS !
We will be decorating the church for Christmas on Friday, Dec. 23rd at
2PM. This is a great opportunity for you and your family to help the
church and get in the spirit of Christmas without braving the department stores. If you have questions, please call Mary Ann at 8805223.. We will be setting up the manger, trees, and poinsettias!!! All
ages can help! Also, this counts towards volunteer hours and it is fun
too!
PARISH OFFICE
The parish office will be closed at 1pm on Wednesday December 21.
A NEW YEAR BIBLE STUDY
At the heart of the Bible are the Psalms, prayers from God that help us
learn to pray. The Holy Spirit inspired them. Israel sang them. Christ
himself prayed them, as did our Blessed Mother. These sacred hymns
become our heartfelt response to God’s loving and wondrous deeds
for us. Join us for Psalms: The School of Prayer at St. Paul's in old
church - down stairs beginning January 11 at 7:00pm and continuing
every Wednesday for 11 weeks. For more information or to register for
the study, call Hans & Janene Nederend at 573-2955 or via email:
[email protected].

Have you seen our school’s billboard on 11th Ave South?
This billboard was made possible thanks to a generous donation made by Danielle Scarlett, a former St.
Paul’s parent, and Epi’s restaurant for the printing of the vinyl. We, here at St. Paul’s, feel very blessed and
thankful for those who made this happen.
Along with this billboard donation, we have received numerous cash donations. We are so excited to see
that our community is so supportive of our school and parish. It is through the generosity of people like you
that make a Catholic Education possible for our children.
