Alter Bridge’s Myles Kennedy joins Even more stars for
‘Music Alla Kaap’ 2.0
Kings of Chaos for SA tour
Myles Kennedy
R
ock supergroup Kings of
Chaos is set to electrify
South Africa when they
bring their unmatched energy and sound to the country on
Friday and Saturday June 7 and 8 at
the Grand Arena.
Vocalist Sebastian Bach formally
of Skid Row, who was originally included in the South African line-up,
will be replaced by Myles Kennedy
from Alter Bridge on the South African tour it was announced earlier
this week.
Originally formed in 2012 as Matt
Sorum’s Rock n Roll All Stars, the
group’s name was recently changed
to Kings of Chaos. While the band
has a core group of members such as
Matt Sorum, Gilby Clarke and Duff
McKagan, all originally from Guns
n Roses, and Joe Elliott from Def
Leppard, they are regularly joined
by guest musicians from other rock
bands. Eight original musicians from
bands such as Guns n Roses, Def
Leppard, Velvet Revolver, The Cult,
Deep Purple, Collective Soul and now
Alter Bridge, will perform together as
Kings of Chaos in South Africa, with
renowned guitarist Slash performing
with the group for the very first time.
Myles Kennedy was, for the longest time, music’s best kept secret.
Aside from being one of the best vocalists in music, he is also renowned
as a guitarist and songwriter.
He is best known for his work in
the acclaimed rock band Alter Bridge,
as well as being the lead vocalist in
Slash’s solo project, ‘Slash featuring
Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators’.
When Guns n Roses were inducted
into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame in
2012, Myles Kennedy was chosen as
the vocalist to front the band in the
live performance on the night.
Slash is considered one of the
greatest rock guitar players of all
time and his mastery of the guitar
is evidenced in his signature riffs
on Guns n Roses’ rock anthems like
‘Sweet Child of Mine’ and ‘Welcome
to the Jungle’. In addition to being
an original member of Guns n Roses,
he also successfully formed and performed in super group Velvet Revolver, and currently tours the world with
his hugely successful solo project.
Slash has amassed album sales in excess of 100-million copies, a Grammy
award, seven Grammy nominations
and countless other accolades.

Percy Sledge
Following the success of ‘Music Alla
Kaap’ celebrating Zayn Adam last
year, Alistair Izobell Productions will
present Music Alla Kaap 2013 at the
Grand Arena on May 24 and 25 at
7pm nightly.
Featuring the legendary US artist
Percy Sledge, Iconic South African PJ
Powers, Cape Town’s party band The
Rockets, featuring two original members Colin “Bones” Delight and Molly
Baron, top Cape vocal group The
Boyz and last year’s headliner Zayn
Adam and more, it is set to be an evening that will have locals talking.
“After three sold out performances I was under immense pressure to present a bigger and better
show,” says Izobell. “We have decided
to celebrate the iconic 1980s in this
star studded spectacular. All the artists on the bill worked together on
Percy’s SA tour in 1984 and again in
the early 1990s. The Rockets and PJ’s
Hotline supported the US artist and
we added The Boyz, who aspired to
walk in their footsteps at that time.”
The show will be a celebration of
great music, a 15 piece band headed
up by Cape Town’s top music directors, produced and conceptualised by
Izobell and hosted by Cape Town’s
own diva Shaleen Surtie-Richards.
* Tickets are R135 to R245. Book at
Computicket. Find Grand West Casino And Entertainment World on
