Historical Funding of Title X
Shows Major Downturn over the Last Five Years
Under President Bush, Title X
funding increased (except 2006).
Between 1985 and 2010,
cuts to Title X totaled $13.9
million. However, over just
the last five years, Title X
funding has been slashed
by $39.2 million. Not since
1981–1983 has the program
experienced cuts like this.
Title X saw an increase in funding
under Republican presidents.
With a Democratic president and
Republican Congress, the program
experienced funding increases.
60
Title X funding rose between
2004 and 2007, even with
a Republican President and
Congress.
