The first activity is explaining this, and going over “Privet” “kak dela” and the responses “khorosho” “plokho” “tak sebe” 5 minutes None All Activity 2 • Journey to Sochi • Just like in our previous lessons, we are going to show our transition to a new city with slides. Pictures of Sochi, the countryside surrounding it, etc will be shown. He will see a picture of one of the actions that we have covered, with a transliterated word beneath it. The student who can’t see has to guess • After a couple of tries, the instructors will also get to play with them 10 mintues Slides with the actions Activity 4 • Races • The students will form a line, and on the table far in front of them will be a printed out locations. The instructors will say a location in Russian, and they have to run to grab the location and bring it back Activity 5 • Map game • We’ll print out little maps of Sochi with specific places that the students have learned highlighted • The students will take turns giving each other/Madeleine and Andrew directions on how to get somewhere they want, using forward, backward, left, and right: прямо, назад, налево, направо • We can highlight a variety of parks and museums, and let students count how many there are. They can also count how many moves it takes to get somewhere. • When they get somewhere, they can ask Где мы?
