FREE TOY INSIDE Items needed: A box of cereal with a prize inside Set up: None Instructions: What’s better than your favorite cereal? Your favorite cereal with a prize inside. In this challenge you must open the cereal box and remove the free toy using only your feet to open and search for the toy. Do whatever it takes to put your foot on the prize because you only have 60 seconds to complete this task. Spiritual application: The parable of the treasure in the field, or the parable of the pearl. NEATY WHEATIES Items needed: A box of Wheaties Set up: Dump the box of Wheaties out on a table. Instructions: Wheaties is the breakfast of champions, and this morning it can make you a champion. Using your cunning, and your hands, gather all the Wheaties up and get them back in the box before time expires. Hurry, you only have 60 seconds to complete this challenge. Spiritual application: Use this game with a message about the story of Ruth, who gathered wheat in Boaz’s field. BOWL OF BERRIES Items needed: A box of Cap’n Crunch Crunchberries A bowl Setup: None Instructions: In this challenge, your task is to gather only the Crunchberries from a box of cereal into a bowl to make a fruity cereal mix. Spread the entire box of cereal on the table, then begin cherry picking the pieces you need. Be “berry” careful not to take too long. You only have 60 seconds to complete this challenge. Spiritual application: Pair this game with a lesson about the Fruits of the Spirit. LOSE YOUR CHARM Items needed: A bowl of Lucky Charms with only 5-6 marshmallows Spoon Setup: Pour a bowl of Lucky Charms cereal and remove all but 5-6 marshmallows. Instructions: In this challenge, you will be tasked with finding and removing the Lucky Charm marshmallows from your bowl of cereal without the use of a spoon or hands. Find all the marshmallows and remove them from the bowl, using only your spoon (you can't use your hands to move the cereal or pick out the marshmallows), in 60 seconds or less and you will win a prize. Spiritual application: Use this game with a lesson about creating a clean heart, removing temptations or worldly beliefs. SHRED THE GIANT Items needed: A box of Shredded Wheat Setup: Remove the bag from the Shredded Wheat box. Set the box up on the end of a table. Instructions: In this challenge, you will attempt to knock over the box of Shredded Wheat by attacking it with the very cereal that came out of it. Set one piece of the cereal on the table on its end and flick it like a paper football at the box. If you are able to score a palpable hit and knock the box off of the table in 60 seconds or less, you win! Spiritual application: Use this game with a lesson about David and Goliath. CHEERIOSLAYER Items needed: Cheerios A coffee stirrer Set up: Spread some Cheerios out on a table. Instructions: In this challenge, you will test your mettle as a swordsman by attempting to “slay” ten Cheerios with your mighty coffee stirring lance. Use the coffee stirrer to pick up ten Cheerios, adding one at a time to the coffee stirrer until you have ten total stacked up on the stirrer. You have 60 seconds to complete this challenge. You may not touch the Cheerios with your hands, and if you lose any in the process, you will have to start over. Spiritual application: Use this challenge with a lesson about being fishers of men, witnessing, and gathering people to Christ. FLYING RICE Items needed: Rice Krispies A straw (optional) Setup: Scatter a bowl of Rice Krispies on a table. Instructions: In this challenge, you will be tasked with clearing the breakfast table by blowing all of the Rice Krispies over the edge and off the table. Using the power of your own breath, blow all the Rice Krispies from the table in 60 seconds or less and you will win a prize. For older kids, make the challenge a little harder by forcing them to use a straw. Spiritual application: Jesus sent Christians out into all the Earth to make disciples. CEREAL SCRAMBLE Items needed: Ten boxes of cereal, approx the same size Set up: Open all the boxes but not the bags inside. Pull the bags out and scramble them, putting them all in the wrong boxes. Instructions: This challenge will test your speed as well as you mastery of breakfast cereals. In each of these cereal boxes is a bag of cereal that does not match what it says on the outside. Your task is to remove all the bags and return them to the correct boxes. If you complete this task in 60 seconds or less, you can take home any box of your choosing. For younger kids - cut the number of cereal boxes from 10 to 6. Spiritual application: Man looks at the outside, but God looks at the heart. KIX OUT Items needed: Kix cereal (or Trix or Cocoa Puffs) Set up: Make a circle 12” in diameter at one end of a long table using chalk or marker, or do it on top of a table cloth. Instructions: This game will test your skill as a cereal marksman. In this challenge you must shoot six pieces of cereal into the circle at the other end of the table, launching them with your fingers like marbles. Be careful not to knock any pieces of cereal already inside the circle out, or you will make you task harder. Get six pieces in the circle at the same time before 60 seconds expires, and you win. For younger kids, you can reduce the number of pieces needed to win or make the circle bigger. Spiritual application: Keep your eyes focused on Christ, and run as if to get the prize. FLYING RAISINS Items needed: A bowl of plain Bran Flakes A box of raisins Setup: Put the bowl of Bran Flakes on a stool. Mark a line on stage eight feet from the bowl for the player to stand on. Instructions: Sometimes little things can make a big difference. In this challenge, your task is to transform a bowl of boring Bran Flakes into Raisin Bran by tossing ten raisins into the bowl. Complete this task in 60 seconds or less, and you will win a prize even better than Raisin Bran. Spiritual application: Little things can make a big difference.
