Our value in school this half term is `COURAGE`.

Safeguarding
Our designated safeguarding
officer is Mrs Lethbridge.

It was really nice to see some
parents at the internet safety
session earlier this week. The
Digital parenting guide that
went home in book bags this
week (Eagles, Kestrels and
falcons only) is a really useful
magazine giving lots of top tips
and handy hints on keeping
families safe when using the
internet. We hope you have a
lovely half term break.
Your opinions are important to us and there is a parent
questionnaire available now on Survey Monkey. Please use this
link to fill it in. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/LAT2017
Eagles. As part of our maths learning this week, we have been
adding, subtracting and multiplying fractions. In English, we
wrote a letter to our parents to inform them about our learning
during Term 3. We focused on using formal language and
interesting range of sentence openers. We developed our
basketball skills, despite the cold conditions this week, by
improving our dribbling and shooting. For our topic work, we
learnt about comets, meteors and asteroids. In French, we
altered vocabulary within basic sentences using a French
dictionary. Eagles class created ballistas in Forest School and it
was a lot of fun. Finally, as a result of our ‘goals’ discussion in
PSHE, we have all set ourselves a goal to achieve during half
term next week. Reminder: the 3rd instalment of £20 for the
residential trip is now due, please make payment as soon as
possible after half term. Thank you to all those that have paid
already.

Kestrels This week in kestrels we have been writing our own independent letters to Dr K Fisher and also writing reply letters. In
maths we have been learning about measuring and converting measures. We had fun measuring real life objects with rulers, tape
measures and metre sticks and also estimated the capacity of different containers and then measured them accurately. In PE we are
continuing to improve our handball skills and this will still be the PE focus after half term. Please remember that forest school is on a
Tuesday and PE on a Wednesday so children need to have suitable clothes in school for both days.

Our value in school
this half term is
‘COURAGE’.
Falcons have continued to work on addition and subtraction using number lines, and have been partitioning two digit numbers into tens and ones as a way to help. In English, we
have written our own group poems about animals which include alliteration. One group even performed their poem to the rest of the school! We have been looking at healthy food
this week, and have sorted food into the main food groups we need to stay healthy. Could the children please bring a baby or christening photo into school after half term.
Owls have been learning about the role of a postal worker. We have set up our very own Post Office, where we are sorting, delivering and organising people’s post and making
phone calls. We have also been working hard on subtraction this week. Could you please practice letter formation with your child over the half term. In phonics, we've been
learning the oi, oo/ue and we've revisited the 'ear' sound. These sounds were quite tricky for us, so it might be helpful to practise these too! Have a lovely half term.

We just wanted to say a big thank
you to everyone that supported the
bedtime stories event this week.
We hope that this may be featured in one of the local papers in the
coming weeks. If you have any concerns over this please let the
school know.
During half term the school will be having a
deep clean. Let’s look forward to a nice
sparkly clean school.
