INTRODUCTION 1.2 Taxiway Alpha between Taxiway Golf and Taxiway Juliet is restricted to Aircraft Code C (Max Wing Span 36m) from January 2017 to June 2017. 1.3 Rapid Exit Taxiway Golf between Runway 16/34 and Taxiway Victor is restricted to Aircraft Code C (Max Wing Span 36m) from January 2017 to June 2017. 1.4 A NOTAM has been published advising of the restrictions to Taxiway Alpha and Rapid Exit Taxiway Golf. 1.5 All works associated with this MOWP are expected to be completed by June 2017 2. BACKGROUND 1.1 2.1 The purpose of this AIC Supplement is to notify pilots of the restrictions to Taxiway Alpha and Rapid Exit Taxiway Golf during planned works as part of YMML Method of Working Plan (MOWP) 2014-1 Taxiway Victor South Project. Melbourne Airport has published MOWP 2014-1 which details each Stage of Works and associated Operational and Aircraft restrictions. A copy of the MOWP is available at: http://melbourneairport.com.au/for-business/onsite-at-melair/ method-of-working-plans-current.html (AIC H14/17) Page 2 of 4 2.2 The works will comprise an extension of Taxiway Victor to the south from Taxiway Golf to Taxiway Juliet and also include an extension of Taxiway Yankee from Taxiway Alpha to connect to the extension of Taxiway Victor. 3. OPERATIONAL INFORMATION 3.1 To assist pilots navigating around the works areas, Melbourne Airport have implemented the following: The painting of “Max Wingspan 36m” markings within the taxiway intersections of: Twy Golf & Twy Alpha and Twy Juliet & Twy Alpha The installation of 2 x Electronic Variable Messaging Boards located within the works area at each end of Taxiway Alpha advising of the restriction of Taxiway Alpha to 36m Wingspan. For Runway 16 arrivals - ATC will give directed transmissions to pilots of aircraft with a wingspan above 36m: Runway exit instructions i.e. “VACATE AT TAXIWAY JULIET” or “RAPID EXIT GOLF NOT AVAILABLE” ATIS advising that Rapid Exit Taxiway Golf is not available to aircraft with a wingspan greater than 36m.
