There is no built-in feature in Cognos TM1 that tracks changes as they are being made to TM1
objects (views, TI processes, chores, web sheets, etc.). Not knowing what is being changed, nor
having the capability to go back to prior versions of objects, restricts your ability to find where
errors have occurred and also repair the problem. Unnecessary effort is required to see what
changes have occurred within a certain timeframe and to debug and fix issues.

Streamlined Deployment for Cognos TM1
Moving TM1 content from Development environments into QA and Production environments is
an inefficient, elaborate process littered with opportunities for human errors. There are many steps
involved with deploying that are done by hand. This not only slows down the deployments
themselves, but also increases your chances of introducing errors. These include:
• Moving content by copying files from Dev to Prod requires you to restart TM1
• Manually recording changes in Dev and then replicating them in Production
• The Transfer component of the Performance Modeler inserts extra code to processes
that may be undesired and is difficult to remove
