Hamilton PRP Polymeric Columns
Hamilton’s Polymeric Reversed Phase (PRP) columns combine the characteristics of silica
based and polymeric columns for improved versatility and longer life. With PRP columns, you
can let your sample dictate the necessary separation conditions - they are not restricted to the
acidic range of silica columns.
PRP Columns Provide
PRP Columns
• Enhanced Selectivity - Stable from pH 1 to 13. Acidic and basic compounds can be
analyzed on the same column, by varying the pH of the mobile phase
• Long Column Life - Stable in any concentration of aqueous buffer or organic modifier
• Improved Sample Recovery - All PRP columns are made of poly (styrene-divinyl
benzene) and contain no silanol groups. Silanol groups present on silica-based columns
can cause irreversible adsorption and poor sample recovery
• High-Pressure Stability - Stable up to 340 bar (5000 psi), for high flow rates and quick
analyses
CRS offers the following PRP columns:
Revered Phase
PRP-1 - A 5 or 10 µm, 100 A packing for general use
PRP-3 - A 10 µm, 300 A packing for a wide pore separation of proteins
Ion Chromatography
PRP-X100 - A 10 µm anion exchanger for use with organic or inorganic anions, with or
without suppression
PRP-X200 - A 10 µm cation exchanger for use with organic or inorganic cations, with or
without suppression
Carbohydrate Analysis
HC-40, HC-75 - These are 10 - 15 µm ligand exchange, gel-type packings for the
separation of carbohydrates. HC-40 is a calcium form, 4.0% cross-linked gel, while HC-75
is a calcium form, 7.5% cross-linked gel.

Mobile Phase Filters/ Handling Systems
The Mobile Phase Delivery Systems consists of
• Solvent Pickup Adapter - for inline filtration. A stopcock allows vacuum degassing after
filtration
• HPLC Reservoir - The unique conical reservoir bottom assures nearly complete delivery
of mobile phase. It is made from borosilicate glass for purity

Ultra-ware 5 Valve Cap Mobile Phase System
Designed for use with mobile phase recyclers. Mobile phase recirculates directly into the
reservoir, while maintaining a helium spared environment. The system is designed to filter,
de-gas and deliver mobile phase in one closed system. Up to five valves can be used at once,
for mobile phase recirculation, pump, filtration, vacuum/vent and sparge. A removable 47 mm
glass frit allows easy cleaning and replacement of membrane filters.

HPLC Mobile Phase Filter Assembly, Ultra-ware
This is a low cost, easy-to-use microfiltration system which consists of a straight-wall funnel,
fritted support base, inner joint flask and an aluminum clamp. The support base has a coarse
porosity glass frit and integral vacuum connection. The assembly uses 47 mm filters. The
vacuum connection is positioned above the filtrate drip tip to prevent contamination of the
vacuum line from solvent splattering. TS 40/35 joints.

Guard Column, Tubing
HPLC Guard Column
This is an easy-to-use, effective guard column system for your HPLC. It protects against
contamination and pressure rise by column plugging. Guard column cartridges are replaced as
needed simply by unscrewing the housing and placing in a new cartridge. Cartridges are 1 cm
in length with 3 mm ID, and are available with different packings to match exactly the packing
of the analytical column you are already using. All packings are 5 micron.

Pre-cut Stainless Steel Tubing, 1/16” OD
Our pre-cut tubing is ready for immediate installation; it is much easier to work with than bulk
tubing. The tubing is cut electrochemically and then electropolished, ensuring square, burr free
ends without flaring. Tubing is then cleaned with solvent wash and further steam-cleaned using
deionized water, for removal of both organic and ionic contaminants. Pre-cut tubing is made
from 316 grade stainless steel. 2 pieces each.

Protect your sample injector valve from particles shed through normal pump piston seal wear,
and your column from premature plugging.
Inline Filters - The filter holder is available in 316 stainless steel or PEEK. The 2 µm
replaceable filter element provides effective protection without increasing system back pressure.
Inlet and outlet connectors are industry standard 1/16” connections. The PEEK filter has a hand
tight design that requires no wrenches.
Precolumn Filter - The precision manufactured 316 stainless steel holder incorporates a
