This course, which
combines classes and
sporting and cultural
activities takes place in
VIGO or in LA CORUÑA.
These towns are the
perfect locations for
improving fluency in
Spanish. Galicia’s temperate climate means it
enjoys pleasant weather
practically all year round.
During the month of July,
temperatures range from
22° to 30°C.
Prepare
Leaving Cert
The curriculum is
designed to complement
the Leaving Cert syllabus
in the context of a Spanish
immersion and guarantees
progress in both oral and
written Spanish. Its
principal aim is to give
each
student a strong
foundation in basic
grammar and communication skills (oral/aural).
Classes consist of approx.
10 students. These small
classes maximise personal
attention and allow our
experienced native teachers
to attend to the particular
needs and problems of each
individual student.
An exam held in May in
Dublin is followed by a
briefing for students and
their parents. All levels are
catered for and a final
individual progress report is
provided.
Improve
fluency
Our native teachers use an
oral approach in conjunction with current material,
conversation, debates and
role-play.
The timetable is adapted
to include a few extra-
Weather
permitting
curricular tasks: cinema,
videos, reading, writing
short stories, TV Spanish
news, surveying, etc. High
motivation and maximum
participation in classes are
necessary as Spanish will be
the vehicular language.

Places limited to 2 Spanish schools
Approx. 10 student per class
This course offers a
strong exposure to the Spanish
language with classes, study,
recreation, activities and meals
in a Spanish environment;
which equals a full year of
Spanish class attendance at
home. The extremely small
ratio of students per class adds
to the individual tutelage.
The obligatory information meeting and language test
held in Dublin confirms acceptance onto the programme.
Accommodation is at
the home of a Spanish student.
The Irish must be prepared to
accept differences, cultural or
other, as part of the experience
and are expected to be
courteous.
A copy of the student’s
Junior Cert results may be
requested.
Experience shows that it
takes a few days to overcome
anxiety, adjust (lifestyle, food
schedule) and to feel at ease
with the language. However,
with time and good will, everything becomes easier.
As places are limited,
applications are accepted
strictly on a first come first
served basis. So, please book
early to avoid disappointment.
We reserve the right to refuse an
enrolment for reasons we deem
valid, or to cancel a stay
(insufficient numbers etc.): all sums
paid would then be refunded, save
for expenses incurred. A copy of
the student’s Junior Cert results
may be requested. Balance to be

Practise your Spanish
Irish students should be reassured that their starting level in
Spanish is not critical, as very small classes taught
through Spanish will help everyone to pick-up and
recognise Spanish sounds and will give each student the
opportunity to practise Spanish and gain confidence.
Obviously, Spanish will be the vehicular language.
To secure fluency, learning at school or at home does not
always suffice. Only a real immersion with the qualified
and experience support of our native teachers (with some
homework) can make the difference.
What makes this summer course a wonderful experience is
our unique combination of sporting or cultural activities
shared with local teenagers. Making friends with them
soon helps overcome anxiety and sharing their home
enriches your knowledge of the Spanish way of life.
What is learned is more than an essential foreign language.
This studious holiday becomes an enjoyable and learning
experience.
