ABOUT THE AREA
The house is situated in Entre-Deux-Mers with is a particularly pretty part of the Bordeaux wine growing area. Entre-DeuxMers is typified by the views from the property, which are of small vineyards, farmland, rolling hills and areas of deciduous
woodland. There are several popular and pretty bastide towns in the area, one a 5 minute car drive from this house. These
were originally built as fortified towns before the 100 Years’ War and in the current day are popular with holiday makers and
permanent residents alike.
Because Entre-Deux-Mers is part of Bordeaux’s wine making heritage it tends to be active 12 months of the year, unlike the
more remote areas of rural France. Monsebur in particular is busy during the summer with festivals, concerts, antique and
collectibles fairs and night markets, while in the winter the resident population continues to enjoy village markets,
restaurants, cafes, concerts and local events.
Communications are good – with two international airports at around an hour’s drive away, a railway station at nearby La
Reole and easy access to autoroutes.
