NOTICE AND AGENDA OF COMBINED SPECIAL WORKSHOP, REGULAR GOVERNING BOARD MEETING, AND EXECUTIVE SESSION MEETING BULLHEAD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 15 Pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.02, notice is hereby given to the members of the Bullhead City Elementary School District #15 Governing Board and to the general public that the Bullhead City Elementary School District #15 Governing Board will hold a meeting open to the public on March 23, 2017, Workshop at 5:00 PM, Meeting at 5:30PM, at the District Office, 1004 Hancock Road, Suite 100, Bullhead City, Arizona. The Governing Board may vote to enter into executive session, which will not be open to the public, with regard to any item on this agenda pursuant to A.R.S. 38-431.03(A)(1) relating to personnel decisions, 38-431.03(A)(2) relating to discussion of records exempt by law from public inspection (such as student records), A.R.S. 38-431.03(A)(3) for legal advice from the District’s legal counsel, and/or 38-431.03(A)(4) to consider the District’s position in any pending or contemplated litigation. Possible changes for 2017-2018 were also discussed, some were having 7th and 8th at one site and 5th and 6th at one site. Melinda Sobraske suggested a special workshop before the April regular meeting with all board members in agreement. One will be scheduled and open to the public. 2. PRESENTATION AND REPORTS: 5.1 ● ● Calendar Events - March, April & May - This is the tough time of the year, with a whole bunch of testing in front of us. Also want to let those who are not aware that we have full time PE teachers at all our schools as well as music, art and media teachers. ● Auditor General Annual Reports - The Auditor General audits every school district in the state and then puts them into peer groups with similar school districts. Our administrative cost are comparable to districts our size. Our plan operations and transportation cost are very low and our food service is considered low. We are below what our peer districts are in spending per pupil. Facilities ○ SFB Grants - We have processed many grants and are waiting for them to be approved, they should be ready to consider by our next meeting. ○ Site improvements - Alisa Burroughs had written a preschool grant that was approved for the preschool program in the amount of $60,000.00. ● 5.2 Superintendent’s report and update: Student Enrollment - Attendance Comparison - Overall we are flat, down from last year. Administrative Reports: Melinda Sobraske thanked the Junior High Principal’s on their reports and getting the information that she requested. She also requested to know how many need to be at the flex fridays and how many of those are really showing.
