A 12yearold boy slipped into an
eightfeet tank and died on Sunday.
Norman Mwawasi, a Standard Six
pupil at Kitumbi Primary School, is

was full of water, while playing with
friends.
"The deceased slipped from the
top of the water tank and drowned
while playing with his friends in
Kimangachughu village," confirmed
the County Police Commandant Rich
ard Bitonga.
Speaking to The Standard, Mr Bi
tonga said die boy's body was taken to
Wesu SubCounty Hospital mortuary.
The incident comes a few months
after a swimming expedition turned
Uagic when a primary school pupil
drowned at Ziwa fit Ng'ombe dam
along the VoiMwatatc road.
The Mzwancnyi Primary School
boy drowned as he swam with his
friends in the dam.
The latest incident comes at a time
when the region continues to experi
ence heavy rains that are also pound

Agricultural experts say the rains
have brought relief to farmers who
had been facing water shortages ow
ing to prolonged drought.
The drought had also affected
