Unit 1: Geography Objective: Students will review geography terms by creating a Geo­ Pictionary. Unit 2: Prehistory Objective: Students will learn about hunter/gatherer societies in prehistoric times. Unit 3: Ancient Mesopotamia Objective: Students will learn about the “Cradle of Civilization” found in the land between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. They will also compare life in ancient Mesopotamia to present day events in Iraq.
Unit 4: Ancient Egypt Objective: Students will learn about the history and geography of ancient Egypt. Unit 5: Ancient China Objective: Students will learn about the history and geography of ancient China. Unit 6: Ancient India and Persia Objective: Students will learn about the history and geography of ancient India and Persia.
Unit 7: Ancient Greece Objective: Students will learn about the history and geography of ancient Greece. Unit 8: Minnesota Objective: Students will have a brief unit on Minnesota history in preparation for the sixth grade field trip. Unit 9: Ancient Rome Objective: Students will learn about the history and geography or ancient Rome.
