CASINO PRINCE is a hugely underrated stallion whose progeny improve with age.
His 12 stakes winners to date are headed by the Group One winners ALL TOO
HARD winner of the Caulfield Guineas (Gr 1), Futurity Stakes (Gr 1), All Aged Stakes
(Gr 1), CF Orr Stakes (Gr 1) and ESCADO winner of the South Australian Derby (Gr
1). In addition he has sired the highly consistent Group One performers HOOKED,
LONGPORT and STAR ROLLING.
CASINO PRINCE has enjoyed a great start to the 2015/16 season siring six stakes
winners, placing him seventh on the Leading Sires bf Australia Table by Stakes
Winners – ahead of more commercially popular stallions MEDAGLIA D’ORO (3),
SEBRING (2), I AM INVINCIBLE (1) and SNITZEL (0).
In our research ahead of the sale season CASINO PRINCE was one of the stallions
that we identified as a possible good value stallion that currently outperforms the
market perception of him.
Ambitious Princess
This colt is the second foal out of AMBITIOUS PRINCESS, a winning sister to
Gloaming Stakes (Gr 3) winner and Australian Guineas (Gr 1) runner up STRIKE
THE STARS and last seasons South Australian Derby (Gr 1) third BEST CASE.
When trained by Anthony Cummings as a three-year-old AMBITIOUS PRINCESS
finished an unlucky eight in the 2010 Queensland Oaks (Gr 1) and had much more
ability than shown on the catalogue page.
AMBITIOUS PRINCESS is the third foal out of the New Zealand One Thousand
Guineas (Gr 1) runner up AMBITIOUS, a daughter of the good maternal influence
LAST TYCOON (who this colt is inbred to 3f x 3f). His third dam is the Group Three
winner and Group One placed STARCENT a sister to the blue hen mare
PROFESSIONELLE dam of PRISIONER OF LOVE, SPORTSMAN, HOYSTAR and
KING OF PRUSSIA.
The Cross
CASINO PRINCE works particularly well with ZABEEL as is also the case with his
sire FLYING SPUR. To date CASINO PRINCES’S progeny bred on this cross are
STAR ROLLING, the recent Summer Cup (Gr 3) and Festival Stakes (Listed) winner
MIGHTY LUCKY and SINO EAGLE. While the FLYING SPUR - ZABEEL cross has
produced Victoria Derby (Gr 1) winner PREFERMENT and Sandown Guineas (Gr 2)
winner MAHUTA.
In addition to this FLYING SPUR works particularly well with LAST TYCOON mares
with this cross producing the Group One winners SACRED STAR, INSPIRATION
and CASINO PRINCE himself along with the Group Two winners MUSHREQ,
SHAFT and ASTRODAME.
Physical Description
A quality colt whose appearance throws more to his maternal grandsire SAVABEEL.
He is a colt that will continue to develop with time and has plenty of scope. He is an
athletic correct colt that moves well exhibiting a long stride at the walk. He will
develop into a lovely three-year-old Classic type.
