Dear Northland Connect WildBlue Customer:
Call it an early holiday gift for WildBlue customers: We’ve just made a major improvement to
your Northland Connect service and you will see your download and upload speeds at least
double what they were previously. And don’t worry: It won’t cost you a nickel extra. We
promised when ViaSat launched our new ViaSat-1 satellite and Exede service last year that we’d
also boost performance for WildBlue, so we’re happy to say the upgrade was completed Nov. 19
for all Northland Connect WildBlue customers.
For example if you’re on the Value plan, this means your download speeds have been bumped
up from up to 512Kbps to up to 1-3Mbps — 2 to 6 times faster! This means that during peak
periods of network congestion, your speeds will be closer to 1Mbps and up to 3 Mbps when the
network is less congested. Your upload speeds have also been increased from up to 128Kbps to
up to 256Kbps. Best of all, there’s no need to do anything or worry about new equipment, and
your data allowance and other plan features will remain the same.
A few things to consider:
 Make sure you have the WildBlue Optimizer installed on your computer. This will
ensure your new fast speeds are paired with improved page-loading and overall
browsing performance. If you haven’t installed the Optimizer, you can get it here:

 Try out the new speeds. Once you’re sure the Optimizer is installed, try out your
favorite websites to see the speed improvement. If you’d like, you can test speeds
using sites like www.testmy.net
 For even greater speeds it is not too late to upgrade to the new Exede system.
