HUMMINGBIRD — NORTH (HANDOUT) Soul Retrieval 1. Initial discussion with the client: the procedure and the presenting problem. 2. Ceremonial preparation: cleanse with sage, light candles and call in the directions. 3. Chakra checking: Ask the client to try to tap into the intensity of the incident at issue, but not to relive the incident. Have the client blow their issue into a stone or power object, then perform muscle testing, or use a pendulum. If there is more than one chakra that tests positive, work on the lowest of the chakras. 4. Spread your Wiracocha enveloping the client, to create a safe and sacred space in which to work. 5. Cradling the clients head in your hands, gently hold the deepening points at base of the skull. 6. Suggest that the client use breath to increase/decrease the strength of the experience. Ask the client to try to tap into the intensity of the incident at issue, but not to relive the incident and with their breath to move the energy out their body through the chakra. Remind the client that, if the experience becomes too strong, he/she can “disengage” by crossing arms over chest. 7. Release (unwind, counterclockwise) the appropriate chakra. Tease out energy & place stone or sacred object on chakra to metabolize the heavy energy or “Miqui”. Track into the chakra to get the landscape of the soul. 8. Gently hold the release points behind the client’s ears, to release energy. Hold for 5 to 10 seconds only. 10. Using drumming and /or rattling begin your journey. a. Drum for a few moments to become “centered” and to allow the client to get accustomed to the sound. Go down (for about a minute), go into the “garden” (for five minutes), come out (about a minute), and come up (about a minute). b. When arriving at the “garden” call and greet Huascar. State your intent and ask for permission to enter on behalf of the client. c. Ask to be shown the four chambers of the client’s Soul 1. Wounds: (the wound of origin that caused the soul loss) 2. Contract (contracts or promises that have kept the soul part here) 3. Grace (joy, peace, life force where you will usually find the healed soul part) 4. Treasures (gifts, possibilities) d. Go back to the garden and give thanks to Huascar. e. As you prepare to return, check to see if any power animals have a message for the client and ask if they want to return with you for the client. 11. Stone: After you return from the journey; move stone then blow the soul element, medicine gift, and power animal into the appropriate chakra(s). For the soul part, this will usually, but not always, be the chakra you opened earlier. Use the heart chakra if you have received no information as to which chakra to use. Remove the stone and Illuminate the chakra and any other chakras that had energy blown in. —1— © 2016 The Four Winds Society. All Rights Reserved Hummingbird — North The Four Winds Society 12. Rebalance the chakra. (Wind clockwise) 14. Discuss with the client the results of the journeying, including what you found in each of the four chambers. The emphasis is on what is useful and helpful and needs to be honored. Do sacred drama or mesa proxy. Discuss what follow-up homework will be necessary to integrate the soul part into their life at all four level of engagement (physical, mental, soul and energetic). Prepare death arrow or medicine gift to be left in nature or taken to the fire, to release hungry ghosts and offer gift to the mother earth. 15. Client chooses stones to represent each chamber. i.e. Wound, Contract, Grace, Gift, Power Animal. 2. Client blows the “memory” of each part of the journey into the prospective stone (including empty chambers). 3. Client places each object in represent the sacred place. Shaman asks “where would you like to place this...?” Guide client into the Underworld 4. Shaman asks client what information they would like from each Soul part. (Avoid yes/no questions.) Examples of questions: What would you like to ask the...? What are the gifts? What does it need to come back? What needs to be honored? 5. Client becomes the part. The Shaman repeats back the client’s questions and wording. (Including voice tone and inflection). The key is to track the energy and allow the client to experience the gifts. Shaman can ask: Name the part — “Pen, what are the gifts you have for (client’s name).” Last question: “Is there anything else you’d like to say to the client?” Shaman thanks the Soul part for visiting or speaking with them. 6. Have client step back out and come back into themselves — using breath and body movement to insure they are fully in their body. 7. Ask client if they heard what the part had to say and repeat the client’s words back to them. 8. Find what they want in their body. Remap: Identify what needs to be honored and develop with the client a plan to honor it. Work at all levels (body, mind, soul). 9. If the person makes a very positive connection with a specific part: a. Then have client own it into their body in this world, even giving it movement as they embody it. b. Come up with a plan with client of how to continue to integrate this element of their soul. —3— © 2016 The Four Winds Society. All Rights Reserved Hummingbird — North The Four Winds Society 10. Complete new soul contract. Guide them on anchoring this in their body, or to a stone, or their Mesa. a. They may need to honor the old contract and explore how it has done positive things for them. b. Guide them to find the new contract. Have them find this first in their body, not the mind. Have them anchor and embody the new contract through movement. c. Find what words need to be expressed – listening to insure the words are at the level of the soul, deep and truthful, not the mind. Remember: The soul contract must offer them the way to embrace their new resources. Additional information: Chamber of Wounds 1. This is a representation of what occurred and is how it is held in the body, it may not be factual. The characters are all parts of the client. 2. We are not here to change the events. Chamber of Contracts 1. The contract may be amended, destroyed, voided, etc. by the client. The Shaman does not alter or destroy the contract. Chamber of Grace 1. The healed soul part which splintered away resides here. 2. Find its voice; what does it require to come back? 3. What needs to be in the new contract? Chamber of Gifts 1. This is a symbolic gift or tool which will assist in bringing back and allowing the soul part to manifest and grow. Power Animal 1. An energy and quality needed by the soul part to return and grow. © 2016 The Four Winds Society. Begin with Illumination. While stone is still on the chakra, do underworld journey 2. Begin Underworld journey l Ask Huascar permission to enter. l If underworld extraction indicated you will be instructed by Huascar. 3. Visit all rooms – first need to see map and how this has effected all chambers. 4. Do underworld Extraction – grab your crystal (may remove stone here to protect crystal). l Ask Huascar to guide you to the piece that needs to be extracted. l Use crystal in a counter clockwise motion. w Vacuum the energy out with the crystal until shift. w May need to extract the whole contract or renegotiate contract. w Revisit to be sure all is cleansed. w When complete, place crystal in your mesa for later cleansing. 5. Soul Retrieval Revisit rooms – as if for the first time – see map as it is now all chambers. w If soul parts are available bring them back. 6. Have client take a few more releasing breaths Continue to backwash chakra – Illumination breaks connection or affinity to old story as now the block is cleared and the energy should be moving again. 7. Remove stone — blow in client anything you may have brought back from SR 8- Illuminate chakra, Res-pin Hold deepening points allow integration process. 9. Follow-up/ Remap/— Mesa Proxy — do for Soul Retrieval portion only l Always map at the end – do a mesa proxy if did a SR. Need to create a new map, a whole new paradigm of how to live. l Tell only as much story as needed of the healing Always keep in mind – what’s the healing piece. (may not be appropriate to share much of the extraction). l Be careful not to install a whole other story. —5— © 2016 The Four Winds Society.
