Write a brochure
Create a brochure about your school that would be helpful to a new
student from a Spanish-speaking country. Include some of the following:
places in the school, classes offered, school supplies needed, teachers, and
extracurricular activities. Your brochure should have illustrations and at
least six sentences.
Interview at a new school
Role-play an interview in which you are seeking admission to a school
in Mexico. Your partner is the interviewer at the school. The interviewer
should ask you questions about your classes and activities. Answer his or her
questions and ask a few of your own about the school. The interview should
be at least two minutes long.
Hold a press conference
Hold a mock press conference. You and your classmates are reporters and
have to ask your teacher questions about his or her school schedule and
favorite activities. Use the answers to write a short profile of your teacher
that could appear in a Spanish edition of the school newspaper. The profile
should have at least five sentences.
Write a postcard
You received the following postcard from your new pen pal in Mexico. Write
back, answering all of your pen pal’s questions and asking a few of your own.
Your letter should have at least eight sentences.
Hola. Me llamo Manuel Salazar. Soy de Puebla, México. Soy
estudioso y atlético. Soy un estudiante organizado. Siempre
saco buenas notas. ¿Cómo eres tú? ¿Cómo son tus
clases? Tengo clases difíciles pero los maestros son muy
simpáticos. Estudio mucho y también paso un rato con
los amigos. Me gusta jugar al fútbol y andar en patineta.
¿Qué te gusta hacer con los amigos?
Tu amigo,
Manuel
