Day 1 London/Manchester/Birmingham/Bristol/Edinburgh to Amsterdam,
Netherlands. Fly by scheduled flight. On arrival transfer to the MS Amadeus
Symphony. Moor overnight in Amsterdam.
Day 2 Amsterdam. Enjoy your first morning of this cruise in the delightful
city of Amsterdam. There is a choice of two excursions today, either a visit
to the famous Van Gogh Museum, which holds the world’s largest collection
of the master’s work, or explore this wonderful city by canal cruise, whilst
ensuring we visit one of Amsterdam’s magical flower displays. Should you
prefer, you are free to explore Amsterdam independently. Later today we
will sail to Cologne. Enjoy Welcome Drinks and Dinner on board this
evening.
Day 3 Cologne, Germany. After spending our morning cruising
the Rhine we arrive into Cologne. Our tour of this famous town
will include its renowned cathedral and the Wallraf-Richartz
Museum, housing a gallery that includes a collection of fine art
from the Medieval period to the early 20th century. Sail this evening.
Day 4 Koblenz and Rudesheim. Arrive in Koblenz for a walking tour of
this historic commercial centre. After lunch continue through the dramatic
Rhine Gorge to Rudesheim, passing romantic castles, lush vineyards and the
infamous Lorelei rock. In Rudesheim, enjoy a tour of Siegfried’s Mechanical
Musical Instrument Museum, housing 350 self-playing musical instruments.
Day 5 Mannheim to Heidelberg. From our mooring in Mannheim, we will
make our way to Heidelberg. From here we will enjoy a half day tour of this
charming town including a visit to its famous castle, whose ruins are arguably
some of the most important Renaissance structures north of the Alps. Return
to our vessel and continue sailing.
Day 6 Miltenberg and Wertheim. This morning on a walking tour, see the
pretty Franconian town of Miltenberg, known for its half-timbered Medieval
houses. Included in our tour will be a tasting of some local beer before
returning to our vessel and sailing. Once in Wertheim, we will have an
afternoon walking tour of this picturesque town. Return to the vessel for dinner.
Day 7 Wurzburg. Arrive this morning in historic Wurzburg. Our tour of this
lovely town includes the magnificent Prince Bishop’s Residenz Palace. Return
to the vessel and set sail for Bamberg.
Day 8 Bamberg. This morning, enter the Main-Danube Canal at Bamberg,
one of Germany’s most beautiful and historic towns. There will be ample
time to tour and explore this Bavarian municipality, whose centre has been
awarded UNESCO world heritage status.

Day 9 Nuremberg. The city of Nuremberg’s long and sometimes troubled
history has left its mark on the city and there will be plenty to discover during
our tour. Visit the World War II sites, including the Reich Party Rally Grounds.
Discover the city’s spectacular Medieval architecture, including the 900
year-old ramparts that surround the city, the courts of justice and more. On
returning to the vessel, continue cruising through the highest point of any
commercial waterway in Europe, 1331 feet above sea level.
Day 10 Regensburg. Today we enter the Danube River and arrive at the
historic town of Regensburg. During our guided tour we will see highlights
such as the Old Town Hall, the World Heritage listed city centre and the
Romanesque Porta Praetoria. We will then be entertained by the local
Domspatzen Quartet with a concert in one of the local churches.
Day 11 Passau. Arrive this morning in Passau, where the Inn and
Ilz rivers join the Danube. Our guided walking tour will include the
old town of this Bavarian city and the breathtaking Cathedral of St
Stephan which contains one of the world’s largest church pipe organs.
Enjoy an organ recital before returning to the vessel for lunch. The
afternoon is at leisure in Passau before we cruise to Austria this evening.
Day 12 Melk and Wachau Valley to Vienna, Austria. Today, we will enter
the stunning Wachau Valley. Our vessel will moor in Melk under the shadow
of the great Baroque Abbey, situated on a cliff high above the Danube.
Enjoy a guided tour of the Abbey. We will then join our vessel once again
and continue sailing through the Wachau to Durnstein, where King Richard
the Lionheart was imprisoned. Here we will have a further guided tour,
followed by time at leisure. This evening sail to Vienna.
Day 13 Vienna. A morning city tour of Austria’s elegant capital will take us
around the famous Ringstrasse and the Old Quarter including St Stephan’s
Cathedral. Return to the MS Amadeus Symphony for lunch and enjoy an
afternoon at leisure. Optional evening performances ashore will be arranged

supper will be arranged on board and a late evening snack offered on your
return to the vessel.
Day 14 Vienna. This morning depart for a visit to the wonderful Schonbrunn
Palace and Gardens, the favourite summer residence of Maria Theresa.
This afternoon you will have time at leisure to explore this grand city
independently or enjoy free time on board.
Day 15 Bratislava, Slovakia. Arrive this morning in the Slovak capital of
Bratislava. Join a guided walking tour of the city, previously known as
Pressburg, a former capital of Hungary. See the Old Quarter, the ornate

its paprika production. A tour of the Puszta district will include the town,
followed by a spectacular display of Hungarian horsemanship at the
Bakodpuszta Equestrian Centre. Cruise to Mohacs this afternoon and
moor overnight.
Day 18 Pecs. Depart on a morning’s excursion to Pecs. Lying between the
Danube and Drava Rivers in southern Hungary, the historic city of Pecs
enjoys a fine position on the slopes of the Mecsek Hills. Our excursion
will feature the sites associated with the city’s Roman Ottoman Hapsburg
past. Return to the ship in Mohacs and enjoy an afternoon cruising.
Day 19 Belgrade, Serbia. A half day tour highlights the city’s main
attractions, including the Kalemegdan fortress as it looms over the
confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, Saint Sava Cathedral, being
the largest Orthodox Church in the world and finally, Tito’s memorial.
This evening, enjoy a Folklore performance.
Day 20 Cruising through the Iron Gates. Today the scenery becomes
truly spectacular as we cruise through the Iron Gates, a narrow Danube
gorge between the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains.
Day 21 Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. From Svistov, drive to Veliko Tarnovo,
the capital of the second Bulgarian Kingdom from 1187 to 1393. The city
formed a natural fortress, located on three hills surrounding the Yantra
River. A palace, fortifications and churches were built into the terrain.
Across the river, ancient stone houses seemingly
perched on top of each other rise up the steep
riverbank. After lunch in a local restaurant, rejoin the
ship in Rousse and sail in the late evening.
