Conference and Room Hire at Canolfan Cyfarthfa
The centre has one large function room available for hire which has a sound proof partition
wall enabling customers to book half a room for smaller meetings or groups. The function
room/rooms may be used for meetings, seminars and conferences, comfortably seating up
to 20 delegates in a full room or 12-16 delegates in a half room depending on whether or
not the customer requires catering. The centre’s cafe is able to provide teas and coffees
for smaller groups and for bigger groups teas, coffees and a buffet can be set up within the
function room.
Full Function Room
This room seats up to 72 people theatre style, or 20 seated boardroom style. Catering for
meetings and conferences can also be provided in this room.
Half Function Room
This room seats up to 32 people theatre style. It can seat a maximum of 16 boardroom
style; if catering is required inside the room the maximum that can be seated is 12
boardroom style. Catering for meetings and conferences can also be provided in this
room.
Equipment/Facilities Available
The centre can provide a laptop computer, PowerPoint projector and screen, TV and DVD
facilities, PA system, a flip chart board, a state of the art whiteboard and portable lecterns.
Any additional equipment required, not listed above, will have to be provided by the hirer.
Fees and Charges
PLEASE NOTE: Bookings made outside normal opening hours (before 9.00, or after 17.00 Oct
– Mar/18.00 Apr – Sept) incur a charge of £40.00 per hour in addition to the normal booking
fee. No bookings will be taken for Monday’s during winter opening hours.

*Half day rate can be charged for any 4 hour period it is not constrained by times.
** Additional charge of £40.00 per hour (or part of an hour) will be applied before 9.00 am
or after 5.00 pm in winter and 6.00 pm in summer.

Basic Catering Prices
The minimum buffet price is £6.00; check the main buffet price list to find different
buffet selections and prices.
Teas and coffees can be supplied with an urn and accompanied with selection of biscuits
at £1.60 per head. Tea, coffee, individual wrapped cake/cake slice/welsh cake (2 per
person) - £2.20 per head.
Alternatively, tea, coffee & selection of biscuits can be bought at the on-site cafe at
counter prices i.e. tea £0.80, coffee £1.20, welsh cakes & biscuits £0.40 (NOTE this is
subject to the on-site café being open – it will be closed during the winter season,
Oct - Mar)
Catering should be ordered at the time of your room booking and is invoiced separately.
Please note that if you wish to have alcohol served there is an additional charge of £21.00
and we must have at least four weeks notice.

To hire Canolfan Cyfarthfa’s conference facilities telephone 01685 727371. Alternatively you
can e-mail [email protected] with your booking. A member of staff will check
whether we can accommodate your group, and if so will complete a Booking Enquiry Form
for you. The booking enquiry form is not a formal booking, it will be sent to you to check
that the details of your booking are correct. You must sign and return the form to the
museum in order to have your booking confirmed.
