What a season! As usual, there is something for every taste, I promise! There are soloists of international caliber: Dame Evelyn Glennie, percussion, Jon Kimura Parker, piano, and the return of the simply amazing Time for Three. And I'd be crazy not to mention whom we're presenting in collaboration with the UT Tyler Cowan Center: Yo-Yo Ma! As for repertoire, I'm looking forward to Beethoven's monumental 9th Symphony - the Choral Symphony, Bruckner's magisterial 7th, and a percussion concerto by American composer Jennifer Higdon. Our Veterans Day concert features both patriotic and contemplative music, inspired by or written during times of war. The ETSO concludes its Brahms cycle this season, and you'll once again hear very new, very old and very "American" music. But I'm even more excited about the number of works that will be performed for the first time ever by the ETSO. These pieces are indicated in the brochure ̵ I invite you to count them for yourself!
