Job Site Survey
A. Perform moisture testing in accordance with
one of the following methods:
ASTM F1869 Standard Test Method for
Measuring Moisture Vapor Emission
Rate of Concrete Subfloor Using
Anhydrous Calcium Chloride. Verify
and document the results in accordance
with the specification. If MVER
exceeds 3 lbs./24 hrs./1000 sq. ft. and is
under 10 lbs./24 hrs./1000 sq. ft., apply
Dex-O-Tex VaporControl Primer 200 as
per Application Specification S-970. If
MVER exceeds 10 lbs./24 hrs./1000 sq.
ft. and under 15–22* lbs./24 hrs./1000
sq. ft., apply VaporControl Primer 100
as per application specification S-972.
C. Measure and record ambient temperature and
humidity, surface temperature and the
temperature of the material being used; Do not
proceed with the application if the conditions
are outside the recommended parameters.
Inspect materials to be used. Verify material is
the proper material and all components and
sizes are correct. Inspect all containers and
verify a proper factory seal with no signs of
damage or leakage. Premix Liquid materials
into a smooth homogenous blend before using.
D. Joints and Cracks – Expansion joints, and
Control Joints should be continued through the
system and sealed with an elastomeric sealant.
The sealant may then be top coated with the
final finish coat of the system.
Environmental Conditions
ASTM F2170 Determining Relative
Humidity in Concrete Floor Slabs Using
in situ Probes. Verify and document the
results in accordance with the
specification. If the in-situ relative
humidity (rh) of the substrate is greater
than 75% and less than 84%, apply
Dex-O-Tex VaporControl Primer 200 as
per Application Specification S-970. If
the in-situ relative humidity (rh) is
greater than 84%, and less than 89–

Materials should be delivered in original
packages and containers with seals unbroken
and bearing manufacturer's labels containing
brand name and directions for storage and
mixing with other components. Check materials
immediately upon receipt, verify all the correct
materials in the correct packaging are accounted
for in good condition. Sort the materials and
store them in a tempered storage area.
12 fluid oz of Thickener powder per mixed
gallon of C Bondcoat
Measure out the required amount of Component
A and Component B and pour into a clean
mixing container, scraping the sides and bottom
of cans to insure all materials are used. Mix
with a low speed electrical mixer for
approximately three minutes to a homogenous
blend. Then slowly blend in 12 fluid oz per
gallon of Thickener powder. Cover mixing
vessel during mixing to contain thickener
powder during mixing. Take care to insure
smooth homogenous blend is free from dry
clumps.
STEP ONE – Bond Coat
C Bondcoat
Mix Ratio: 2A:1B
Cure Time: 6 hrs
Coverage: 225 s.f.
Pot Life: 35 min
Recoat Time: 6 – 48 hrs
DFT: 7 mils
A. Mix together the following materials:
C Bondcoat Comp A ........... (2 Parts by Volume)
C Bondcoat Comp B ............. (1 Part by Volume)
Measure out the required amount of Component
A and Component B and pour into a clean
mixing container, scraping the sides and bottom
of cans to insure all materials are used. Mix
with a low speed electrical mixer for
approximately three minutes to a homogenous
blend.
OPTION: Dex-O-Tex Cove Base Gel is a factory
pre-thickened resin that may be used in lieu of
the thickened C Bondcoat material. Cove Base
Gel does not usually require adding any
thickener powder at the job site.
B. If only minor patching is required, apply the
epoxy patch material with a broad knife and
smooth off. Minor sanding may be required.
If the entire surface needs to be parged, apply
the Thickened epoxy material with a grout
trowel or squeegee. Pull the material tightly
across the surface being care to not to leave any
ridges or trowel marks. Examine the surface as
you go to inspect for any signs of sagging or
running. If the material does sag or run then it
either needs to be applied thinner or the
material need to have more thickener powder
added. The exact amount of thickener will be
effected by job site conditions, substrate and
application technique.
B. Apply a thin coat of C Bondcoat using a trowel,
squeegee, or roller over the area to be coated.
Do not allow primer to sag or be applied too
thick. A three gallon (2 gal A: 1 gal B) mixture
should cover approximately 675 square feet
(225 sq. ft. / mixed gallon) over smooth surface.
If surface is very porous, two coats may be
required. Allow to cure as described below
before proceeding with the application.
C. Once cured, lightly sand the entire surface with
palm sander or pole sanding techniques.
Remove all imperfections from the surface.
Inspect surface for acceptability before
proceeding to the next step. Allow to cure a
minimum of 6 hours @ 70OF.

substrates, three coats maybe required to
provide adequate "hiding” of the substrate.
C. Apply Wallcote E using a shed-resistant roller
of suitable nap length. Apply smoothly and
evenly. Cross-roll the surface to insure even
material distribution. First coat coverage for
Unit Three package will be approximately 675
sq. ft. per unit (225 sq ft per gal). Check
application thickness during installation with a
wet mil gauge to insure proper application
thickness. Pot life is approximately 25 minutes
@ 700F. Pot life can be extended by placing the
material in a roller pan or other wide receptacle.
D. Allow to set to hardness (approx. 6 hours at
70ºF) before recoating.
