o This 7 week walking program
will run from February 1st
through March 20th
o Walk at Albright or on your own time
Using the honor system!
o For easy step counting free
pedometers will be provided
while supplies last and are yours
to keep.
o Sign up in teams of 2 so you have
a buddy for encouragement!

20 miles gets you to the Island of Kauai and a Free Peg’s Café Muffin
40 miles gets you to the Island of Oahu and a Free Schumo Center water bottle
60 miles gets you to the Island of Lanai and a Free Peg’s Café Smoothie!!!
80 Miles gets you to the Island of Maui and a Free T-Shirt
100 miles gets you to the BIG Island of Hawaii and a FREE personal training
session!

--Island Hopping: Destination Hawaii--------------------------------------------------------------- Guidelines --------------------------------------------------------Beat the winter this semester and take a walk with us to Hawaii. We will be
taking a hike through Hawaii’s six major islands: Kauai, Oahu, Molokai,
Lanai, Maui, and the Big Island.
You will start on Big Island and make your way up the island chain all the
way to Kauai. As you arrive from one island to the next you will have
completed a specific number of miles. The miles are as follow:

From Kauai to Oahu = 20 miles completed
From Oahu to Molokai = 40 miles completed
From Molokai to Lanai = 60 miles completed
From Lanai to Maui = 80 miles completed
From Maui to Big Island = 100 miles completed
Upon arriving at each island every participant will receive a prize.

In Kauai you will receive a Free Peg’s Café Muffin
In Oahu you will have won a Schumo Center water bottle
In Lanai you will have a Free Peg’s Café Smoothie!!!
In Maui you will be given a T-Shirt
And when you get to the Big Island you will be awarded a FREE
personal training session! (To be used by 05/09)
Participants are responsible for step counting. Steps will be converted from to
miles to keep track of distance traveled. How do we convert steps to miles?
We know that 2,000 steps equal to one mile so…

You can record your distance traveled in a log book that will be kept at the
front desk at the Schumo Center or you can simply log on to the website

Silver Sneakers and Senior community participants will have the same
guidelines with half the mileage. This means:

From Lanai to Maui = 40 miles completed
From Maui to Big Island = 50 miles completed
