5 Sophia DeJesus Creativity Fair
By: Jennie Pribila
Here are the winners from Trenton Catholic Academy’s 23th
Annual Creativity Fair. The awards ceremony was held on
Thursday, April 30, 2015. We had entries from all categories. There were about 150 entries
from seven different schools. And the three winners were: Mosaic
with the theme Life of Christ, third place, Karina Bustamante-5th
grade; for drawing/painting, grades 5-6, Lindsey Hryniszak-third
place and from grades 7-8- Sofia DeJesus-third place. Thank you to all who entered. All the projects were great! A
special thanks to the staff and teachers who chose the students
that moved on. “This is important: to get to know people, listen, expand the circle of ideas. The world is
crisscrossed by roads that come closer together and move apart, but the important thing is
that they lead towards the Good.”
Pope Francis

The Seventh Grade Ring Ceremony
By: Gavin Schaeffer
On March 16th, the seventh grade had a very special day. The seventh grade received
their class rings. Everyone looked sharp. Their rings symbolized all their hard work,
devotion, and dedication to Our Lady of Sorrows School. Everyone was so excited to
get their rings. During their mass, Father Gene had blessed their rings. This special time
excited all of the seventh graders. After the mass Mr. Costantino and all the families and
friends were so proud that the seventh graders have come so far. After the ceremony in
the school, the 7th grade students walked around the school and had family, friends and
other students twist their rings for good luck. The 7th graders have now accepted their
path into 8th grade.

On April 24, Apple released their newest product line: the Apple
Watch. Launching in three distinct lines, Apple Watch Sport, Apple
Watch, and Apple Watch Edition, they have sold three million units in
their first few weeks making them one of Apple’s biggest successes
to date. As with any Apple product, Apple Watch is extremely easy to
start up and use. Simply open up the Watch app on your iPhone and
pair it with a few simple button presses. The same goes for installing
apps,of which there are already over 3,500. The watch itself sports 6 interchangeable bands, each
sold separately, that come in a variety of different colors. It also has many different faces that can
be changed from the watch itself. Features wise, Apple Watch is jam packed. It allows you to send
texts, receive calls, view calendars, and receive iPhone notifications. You don’t have to worry about
running out of battery as it sports an all-day battery life. One of the coolest new features is digital
touch. This allows you to send doodles, emoji, and even your own heartbeat to your friends with
Apple Watch. After going to an Apple Store and trying on the product for myself, Apple Watch lives
up to all my expectations. It is a durable piece of hardware that is fully featured with a full library of
apps and software making this one of the best smartwatches to hit the market yet. All in all, Apple
Watch is a great addition to the Apple product lineup.

The Adventures of ”Flat Jesus”

OLS Talent Show
by By Joseph Hoffman
This year’s talent show was a showcase of all the exceptional talent this school has to
offer. With singing, dancing, and even comedy, this year’s talent show is not one we will
soon forget.
The talent show was hosted by Sofia Bossi and Dean Luciano who were extremely funny
and entertained between acts. Some of the amazing singers at our school such as Kristy
Hryniszak, Grace Hoffman, and Ian Mayoros performed. For the first time, we had a standup comedian, Savannah McPhail, perform. Also on the comedic side, Joe Stillwell
performed “See My Vest” from the Simpsons. Many dancers showed us their superb
abilities. Mr. Kemmey and the crew did an amazing job organizing this year’s show.
