You will need to change the “All excel files” to “All files” first. In InterHerd there are a variety of reports and grids where you can sort the data, print off lists and work out averages etc. However there may be the odd occasion when you need to export a grid into Excel for example. Open up the report you require eg Cows:Fertility Summary in the Animal List Generator. Right click anywhere along the blue header and select Export to text file: Select your saved text file and click open. You will now see step one of a wizard to help you import your data. Choose where to save the text file and give it a name: Click Finish and the data will be aligned to columns. To split out data eg calving date and days in milk, you can highlight the column, then choose Data and “Text to columns”. This will open up another wizard. You need to select “Delimited” then in the next screen, tick Other and place a fullstop in the box. The programme then knows to split the data when it reaches the first dot. So a calving date of 13/11/2010....720 then looks as below: Now open the spreadsheet program eg Excel. Click the Office button to open a file: As always please contact us on 0844 725 5567 for any assistance.
