THE MAIN GOAL
The main goal of this game is to show people how they
make apples part of their daily lifestyle and why they
should. Use your Macintosh apple to show an apple and
explain its calories and to get the visual that a ball is the
same as an apple.s
OVERVIEW
You can have one or two players during one game session.
Each player will get "apples" to throw in to one six baskets
for an answer. Each right answer they get is worth two
points. Each basket scored is 2 more points. Four baskets
HOW TO PLAY:
You'll need at least ten red or yellow balls, the smaller the
better and not too heavy is best. They will act as your
"Apples".
Take six small trash cans to use as your baskets. set them
up in a straight line. The center 2 baskets will be marked
TRUE and FALSE. The outer baskets are marked with
apple counts. They start from left to right: 1, 2, 3, 4. Two
players are each given 5 balls.
Use 2 players or 2 teams per round. Assign someone to
keep score for each team/person.
You get three rounds of five questions. Points are based on
correct answers - each correct answer is 2 points. If you
miss the basket you do get to try again - when you
make the basket you get an extra 2 points but you
have to guess correct to start!
5.Apple juice is the same as an apple - FALSE - not
really - it is devoid of the fiber so it is not an optimal
choice. ROUND ONE
You can make more fun questions - just be sure you
look up the questions before hand. Each player will
be asked the question. For every answer that they
get right they will gain four points.
During round one, players choose how many apples
equal a popular snack. Using the apples they will
toss it in to a basket marked with the number of
apples they thick is right. 1.One apple is just 81 calories. Take a practice shot
at the can marked 1.
2.How many apples equal a big soft pretzel? 2 or 3
is the right answer.
ROUND THREE
During the last round the players guess how many
calories they burn per hour, in apples, by playing the
game instead of sitting.
1.Sitting equals one apple.
3.How many apples would you have to eat to equal
one ounce chips. 2 is the right answer. 3 could be a
correct answer if you were eating out of the bag!
2.Playing equals two apples.
4.How many apples to equal one large cookie? 4 is
the right answer. Could be 5 on a really jumbo one!
4.Cleaning the house equals 2 apples.
5.How many apples to equal a muffin? 3 is the right
answer.
6.For an extra question or bonus round, how many
apples to equal a medium order of fries? 4 is the
right answer!
Note that these figures are rounded to the closest
approximation for calories and are not meant to be
precise but are meant to help people realize that one
apple is far less calories than most snack foods and
they have fiber which helps you feel more full!
ROUND TWO
Round Two is the True and False period of the
game. The players will use the two baskets marked
True or False. They will be asked questions about
apples and how they are good for you. True or false:
1.Apples only come in red? FALSE - they come in
many colors including red, yellow and green.
2.Apples take a long time to prepare - FALSE they
are ready to eat.
3.Apples are good for your heart - TRUE they have
fiber and are naturally free from added fat,
cholesterol or salt.
4.An Apple Pie is the same as an apple - FALSE here is one time where not all apple foods are equal
because apple pie has added fat and sugar.
3.Riding a bike equals 10 apples.
5.Washing the car equals 2-3 apples.
The good news is that while you are active and not
sitting you are inclined to eat less because you are
busy!
WINNER:
Who ever gets the most points at the end of the
game wins.
