APPROPRIATE: Sole 1 inch thick with 1 inch wide straps. NOT APPROPRIATE: Sole not thick enough and straps too thin. APPROPRIATE: Has straps that are 2 inches wide. APPROPRIATE: Length is midway between the knee and hip. NOT APPROPRIATE: Straps are too thin. NOT APPROPRIATE: Length is too short, midriff showing, and logo on back of shorts. Harding Township School Dress Code The following types of clothing are not considered to be appropriate for school and will not be permitted: Bare midriffs or tank tops. Tee shirts with inappropriate logos or language, i.e. messages considered offensive, disrespectful, or designed to promote any substance abuse. Flip flops – with less than one inch thick straps and one inch soles Shorts or pants with logos across the buttocks. All hats worn to school must be left in student lockers during the school day. Revealing low-cut tops Visible undergarments, including bra straps and underwear Tank tops or muscle shirts for boys Students may wear: Sleeveless tops may be worn but the shoulder straps must be at least two inches across and there must be no exposed undergarments. Leggings may be worn with a finger tip length top. Shorts, skirts, or skorts must be midway between the top of the knee and the top of the leg. Sandals may be worn as long as they have one inch soles and one inch straps. The dress code applies to any school related function. The administration reserves the right to determine proper and non-distracting attire. Students wearing prohibitive attire will be told to change to appropriate attire prior to returning to class and may be subject to disciplinary action. If necessary, a parent will be contacted.
