The most desirable quality to look for in any leader is integrity. “Man Up!” Chapter 3:3-7 “We cannot hide what we are. Indeed, what we are speaks as plainly as what we say. But when they contradict each other, even the positive witness of the one is negated by the other.” – John Stott 1 The primary concern with this attribute is that any addictive behavior is sinful. 2 God is calling us by His grace to trust that being His child means that we willingly move away from things that would hinder the ministry of the Gospel. Spiritually mature people do not hold a grudge or keep a list of all the wrongs done to them. We are to strive to be peacemakers in the Body of Christ. The family is the proving ground for leadership skills. 3 “He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him discipline him diligently.” - Proverbs 13:24 Dad, you must show a love to your child that makes it a delight for them to obey. “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling.” - Proverbs 16:18 Are you the same person outside the church as inside? 4 Whether or not God ever calls you into leadership, be committed to develop the qualities of maturity that are listed in 1 Timothy 3. 5
