EAST CAMPUS WRITING CONTEST
2016 Submission Rules
1. Entries accepted in four literary genres. You may enter once in each genre.
Academic Essay
Personal Narrative
Poetry
Short Story
2. Eligibility for submission is limited to students who have attended or audited at least one class at
East Campus during any semester from Spring 2015 through Spring 2016.
3. Submissions must be received by 5 p.m. March 9, 2016. You may submit work any time prior to
the deadline.
4. Works submitted must be previously unpublished and created while you were a college student.
5. Submissions will not be returned. You should keep copies of your work. All submissions must be
written in 12-point type, double-spaced and in .doc, .docx or .rtf format.
6. Poetry may be single or double-spaced.
7. Please note: By submitting your work to the East Campus Writing Contest, you are certifying that
your submissions adhere to the submission rules.
Submission Guidelines
Important: Judges may eliminate an entry due to grammar or spelling errors. We recommend that
you proofread your work carefully to eliminate spelling and grammatical errors and that you seek
feedback from a tutor or other expert before submitting your work.
1. Identify your work ONLY by your Pima student identification number (your “A” number.) Do not
put your name anywhere on your submission.
2. Attach your submission to an email from your Pima email account.
3. In the subject area of the email, indicate whether the submission is Academic Essay, Personal
Narrative, Poetry or Short Story.
4. Submit only one entry per email.
5. In the body of the email, supply the following information:
• Name
• Complete address
• Your primary telephone number
• Your Pima “A” number
• Your Pima email address
• Title of the submitted work attached to the email.
6. Email your submission to [email protected]. Your submission must be sent through
your Pima email.
