+Area Statement
September 14, 2014
Chris B- Read qualifications for position. Terri (Uncut Recovery)- Stated that some addicts traveled
from out of town to attend the “New Generations” meeting located at 345 Club on Friday nights at
11:00pm and nobody was there to open the doors. Alma (Surrender or Die)- Is Daytona area having a
stand at recovery month? Ron (PR)- Yes, NA will have a stand. Rob (Hardcore)- Friday meeting
cancelled, handled a disruptive person in group appropriately. John (Webservant)- If there are any
meeting changes or additions, please submit in writing to myself, Chair or Vice-Chair. Scott- Starting a
new meeting at the LPGA park called “Back to Life”. Kristen (Secretary)- On Activities facebook page,
there is a site that commented negative remarks regarding our events. This page leads back to
NADaytona.org and could damage NA’s reputation as a whole. Maryann (H&I)- Delete the facebook
page. Sean C (Vice-Chair)- There have been emails from World Service regarding complaints of park
meetings starting up again. Bill (DACNA)- Please keep in mind, the whole community is not against
NA, it is really 4-5 people. If you google “those against NA”, you will see there are thousands of
people in the US that have strong feelings about NA. However, it is time to take a stand for NA. Bill G
(Just for Today)- My home group was the first to move, 3 years later had a group conscious to go back.
The individual that had the problem followed us but finally gave up. I police the meetings and make
sure people do not smoke and abide by the laws. John B (Webservant)- Find another place to meet,
much easier. Why intentionally step back into public controversy? Sarah Ha (New Attitudes)- DACNA
facebook page is not open to anyone, they have to request you as a friend first to access any of it. Carl
(Policy)- Tradition 4, can they work with this? Ron (PR)- I am friends with the Holly Hill council,
mayor, businessmen. I have spoken with the city and we have tried to pay our fair share. Chris M (Just
for Tonight)- After September 26th, there will be no more Just for Tonight meetings.

Public Relations Report:
PR Report – September 2014
Public Relations met on August 17, 2014 at 6:00pm at 730 Beville Rd. There were 5 addicts in
attendance. The chair reported that he has been filling in the position of helpline coordinator and the
helpline received 70 calls for the month of August. All calls were fielded immediately or called back in
a timely fashion. The chair also reported that schedule distribution continued in the same manner in
August, with groups either taking the same amount of schedules or not needing any more at that time.
At the current rate, it appears that we will have at least 1,000 leftover schedules at the end of the
quarter so that we can adjust future orders accordingly. The chair received a check from the treasurer
of the ASC for $30.00 and sent that with the registration form to SMA Behavioral Healthcare for a
table at the September Recovery Month event. There was a nomination for Ron A. to the position of
Public Relations Vice Chairperson. He was voted in unanimously. Public Relations still has the
following positions available: Secretary, Alternate Secretary, Helpline Coordinator, and Schedule
Coordinator. All are encouraged to attend and be of service to the sub-committee. Public Relations
meets the 3rd Sunday of every month at 6:00pm at 730 Beville Rd.
