Introduction
Genial Geschichte Topics ist ein fächerübergreifendes Arbeitsprogramm, das bestimmte geschichtliche
Themen für den Englischunterricht anbietet, und die Schüler zum selbstständigen Erarbeiten einer
historischen Epoche in englischer Sprache anregt.
Viele differenzierte Arbeitsaufgaben, Puzzles, Rätsel, Lernspielen-Dominos und Triminos tragen zur
Festigung der Geschichten oder der Informationstexte sowie der neuen Vokabeln bei.
Die Selbstkontrolle der einzelnen Aufgaben ermöglicht den Schülern das Lerntempo selbst zu bestimmen.

Ice Age/Late Stone Age
Neanderthal Man
The early people lived as nomads. They moved from place to place,
hunted animals and gathered wild plants and berries.
One of the early kinds of Homo Sapiens is called Neanderthal Man. Neanderthal people lived during
the ice age, about 50 000 years ago. Large parts of the world were covered with ice.
The Neanderthal people died out about 40 000 years ago.
Read the sentences carefully and find the correct pictures- draw lines
1| The Neanderthal man used a hand axe made of stone to cut meat.
2| Neanderthal people were very strong.
These people hunted animals such as woolly mammoths with wooden spears.
They ate its meat and used its skin and thick hair to keep them warm.
3| The Neanderthal people may have cooked meat on hot stones.
First they lit the fire, when the stones were hot the fire was swept away.
The heat from the stones slowly roasted the meat.
4| The Neanderthal people lived in caves or built huts from branches covered with animal hides.
