Who we are
naturSource is a family owned and operated business.
Like many of our clients, we are extremely passionate
about what we do. Originally founded by Garry
Oberfield and his wife Trudi in 1980, naturSource has
grown and evolved with the health food industry while
remaining true to its core value.
Our mission has always been to provide people with
natural, healthy and great tasting snacks and cereals.
Joined by their son Mitch in 2010, naturSource
continues to hold those values dear while developing
original and creative new snacks that will keep
consumers coming back for more.
Our business philosophy
Whether you need private label branded snacks to offer
your airline passengers, granola bases for your bars, or salad
toppers for your salad kits, you must be able to rely on a

Dry roasted, never fried
Our nuts and seeds are exclusively dry roasted with heated
air, and never fried in oil. Dry roasting is healthier and
creates better tasting nuts that stay fresher longer when
compared to their deep-fat fried counterparts.
The process of dry roasting releases the naturally occurring
oils in nuts and seeds, bringing out and enhancing their
pure flavor. Deep-fat frying introduces additional oils of
questionable quality and origin which change how nuts
and seeds taste. It also increases the speed at which the
nuts and seeds will become rancid, adds additional calories,
fat and, in cases where hydrogenated oils are used, transfats.

Quality control & certifications
As a food manufacturing company, quality is our top priority. Quality isn't only about taste, it’s
about safety too! The safety of our consumers is paramount to us and we will take every step
possible to ensure that our products are safe to eat.
HACCP certified since 2012
HACCP is a rigorous food safety program which allows us to
tightly monitor and control contamination risks before, during
and after production. Our system is monitored by our dedicated
QA department and operated by our professionally trained
production workers. naturSource ® has full backwards and
forwards LOT traceability functions and it’s certification is
annually audited by BNQ.
OU Kosher Pareve certified
Kosher is defined as foods that conform to the regulations of the
Jewish Halakhic law framework, which form the Jewish dietary
laws. Pareve is a Hebrew term used to describe food that does not

contain any meat or dairy ingredients. naturSource undergoes
monthly spot-checks, an annual certification process and has
been certified by the Montreal Vaad for over 33 years.
USDA organic certified by QAI
Quality Assurance International is a recognized USDA-accredited
organic product certifying agency. naturSource ® has been
working with QAI since 2004 to certify our organic products.
NSF Food Safety and Quality Systems GOLD
Guelph Food Technology Centre (GFTC) is a global leader in food
safety, training, quality and technical solutions. The Food Safety
and Quality Systems Audit covers all aspects of a Food Safety
Management System plus Quality Systems and Food Defense. It is
GFTC’s most widely accepted audit standard by major retailers
and other stakeholders in the supply chain.

Yogurt Toppers
naturSource® has developed a number of custom recipes for
companies that require a granola product to top off their yogurt.
We work with our customers to define the profile, the granola
cereal base and then the inclusion or exclusion of seeds, nuts and
dried fruits. Our custom granola recipes have seen success with
both national Canadian CPG yogurt manufacturers and
international retail coffee chains.
Porter Airlines
Have you flown Porter Airlines lately? naturSource® recently won
the contract to supply the snack mix for Porter’s lounge in
downtown Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport, a coveted Canadian
location. What sets us apart? Our ability to create a unique flavor
profile with premium ingredients at the desired price and format,
and our ability to respond quickly to their changing needs.
Via Rail Business Class
Via Rail, Canada’s sole national rail service provider, approached
naturSource® to create a unique blend to offer in their Business
Class cabins. We were awarded the contract after developing the
ingredient combinations and flavor profiles to meet their tastes
and target price point. This product development project included
recipe development, raw material sourcing, and bilingual privatebranded packaging design.
Costco Canada
naturSource® has been working with Costco Canada for over 25
years, developing custom products to fit their needs. The most
notable products being our famous Tamari® Almonds (#2
Canadian almond SKU in 2013) with it’s custom package and tray,
and Salad Topper Lite® with it’s custom recipe, packaging and tray.
