What Happens to Yard Waste ?
Mulching of residential landscape waste was discontinued
in Monroe County several years ago due to limited demand, disease and contamination concerns. Check with
you local service provider (see other side of brochure for
phone numbers) to find out whether yard waste is still
being separated in your neighborhood. If you would like to
start your own food/yard waste composting project at
