If you are seeking an agriculture, health, or planning on attending a technical college then you need to ask for a Luling Foundation application. Four Rivers Realtors is offering a scholarship, stop by Mrs. Matlock’s office for an application Pursuing a career in the automotive or related industries? Then stop by Mrs. Matlock’s office and pick up a Buick Achievers Scholars application information form. The Council of Educational Facility Planners International is offering a scholarship opportunity to students planning a career in an engineering field. See Mrs. Matlock for an application. There will be an NHS meeting on Thursday, January 21 at 1:00 in the library. Attention all girls who are and will be age 16 before September 1, 2016: The Texas Trail Riders Association is looking for a queen for the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo. If you are interested in applying or just want more information stop by Mrs. Matlock’s office. Applications must be received by February 6th. The Apache Flames are pleased to announce that auditions for the 201617 dance team will be rd held on Thursday March 3 in the GHS New Gym. If you would like to audition, please sign up th in the office. The last day to sign up will be Friday February 5 by 4 p.m. There will be a st MANDATORY informational meeting on Thursday February 18 at 4:30 in the GHS cafeteria. The contestant and a parent must be present at this meeting in order to audition. There is a MANDATORY baseball player and parent meeting tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 21 at 7:00 pm. in the field house. Seniors interested in being considered for Who’s Who at Gonzales High School need to complete a fact sheet and turn it into the counselor’s office by Friday, January 22nd. To be considered for Who’s Who you MUST turn in a fact sheet. Criteria include: leadership, academic achievement you have to be in the top third of the class citizenship, dedication and loyalty. Seniors who have a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, scored 20 or higher on the ACT or 1050 or higher on the SAT need to stop by Mrs. Matlock’s office a pick up instructions on how to apply for the Ford Driving Dream Scholarship program sponsored by the LULAC National Education Service Centers, Inc. Deadline is February 29th. Anyone interested in trying out for 20162017 Gonzales High School Cheerleader or Mascot need to sign up in the office and pick up a parent information packet. The deadline for signing up is Friday, January 29. There will be a MANDATORY parent information meeting on Monday, February 8 at 5:15pm in the High School Cafeteria. Tryouts will be held on Wednesday, March 9. The Gonzales Leo Club will be holding their meeting on Thursday, January 28th in the library. Freshman meeting will be held during their 5th period lunch and Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors will meet during 6th period lunch. Lunch will be provided if you sign up with Mrs. Perez before the end of Wednesday. Bring your own drink. Also, the Leo Club has order forms in the front office for carnations. All orders will be due before February 5th and will be delivered Friday. February 12th. New Anchor Tshirts have been ordered. Tshirts are $13.00. They will be ready for pick up Thursday January 28th. Anchors are needed to serve at the Chamber Banquet Friday January 29th. Please sign up in Mrs. Holmes office. You must wear your Anchor Tshirt and black slacks. The due date for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Scholarship is coming up fast! Remember, you do not have to show animals, or participate in the rodeo to apply. FCCLA will host Ignite the Night! 3K Run/Walk Saturday, January 30th at Independence Park. This event benefits our summer soccer and track youth programs.
