Stanwood-Camano School District Press Release:
COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL PLANNING MEETINGS – INPUT IS IMPORTANT!
A committee made up of parents, community members, school board members, and staff, has been working on a plan
to replace the 45 year-old Stanwood High School for the past year. The existing school has served the community well
beyond its intended life. The committee has determined the new school should remain on the existing site and
replacing the facility without a tax increase to the community is realistic.
The committee is seeking input from the community at-large to develop a conceptual design for the new school. The
committee is excited to be able to solicit community input that will be used in the development of a final
recommendation to the school board. The financing (bond issue) plan will be presented to voters in the form of a ballot
measure in February 2017.
The community is invited and encouraged to any of the meetings, listed below, to provide input into the proposed plans
and to learn more about related issues. There will be opportunities for hands-on involvement and other activities that will
directly influence the final plans. For more information call 360-629-1222.
Community meeting dates for this month:
•
March 8 - 6:30 PM Stanwood High School Library, 7400 272nd Street NW, Stanwood,
WA 98292
•
March 9 - 6:30 PM Utsalady Elementary Gym , 608 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island,

Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi is a great story that

are interested in teaching more about this
subject. Solving problems with area and

grade standard in math.
