This registration information is ONLY for the Traditional, Traditional Plus, Week-to-Week,
‘Tween, Extended, and Gumbo Limbo camps. The Specialty Programs at Sugar Sand Park,
Beach Volleyball, Ocean Adventure Sea Program, Surf School, Kayaking, Junior Lifeguard, Fishing,
Baseball, Itty Bitty Baseball, Crazy Games, Tennis, and Golf DO NOT have this registration process.
Please refer to each section for registration information for those programs.

• Go to http://webtrac.myboca.us/
• Login using your Username and Password. If you do not have one, visit any of the 3 community
centers with a proof of residency and receive one at the front desk. (If you have a username and
password but can’t remember them, please call a community center or Camp Administration at
561-393-7888)
• Once in the WebTrac system, click “Browse Activities”.
• In the “Activity Number Search” bar, type in the activity number(s) for your program(s).
• Select the program(s) you would like to register for and follow the instructions from there.

REGISTRATION DATES:
City of Boca Raton and Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District Residents:
Registration begins on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 8am.
County and Non-Residents: Registration begins on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 8am.
Residency is determined by where the child lives with his/her parent or legal guardian. If the
child lives outside of a 50 mile radius from Boca Raton and is staying with a family member who
is a Resident, the child can receive the Resident rate.
FEES:
A $20.00 non-refundable Administration Fee will be charged per application regardless of acceptance.
A $10.00 non-refundable Palm Beach County School Usage Fee will be charged per child for the
following camps:

Extended Camps- A $50.00 deposit per week due at time of registration, BALANCE DUE BY JUNE 3.
GAP Camp and Specialty Programs- FEES MUST BE PAID IN FULL at time of registration.
Camp fees include all activities and field trip fees for selected camp.

A $25.00 ADMINISTRATION FEE WILL BE APPLIED.

REFUNDS: All requests for refunds must be submitted in legible WRITING to the Camp Office or
faxed to 561-347-5188.
• Traditional Camp, Traditional Plus Camp, and ‘Tween Camp, Week-to-Week Camps, Extended
Camps, and Gumbo Limbo Environmental Camp: Requests for refunds received by Friday, May
27th will be less a $25.00 withdrawal fee, and from May 28th to June 10th will be less a $75.00
withdrawal fee.
NO REFUNDS AFTER JUNE 10th.
• GAP Camp: NO REFUNDS.
Medical refund requests must have a specific doctor’s documentation and must be received seven
(7) days prior to start of camp. Medical refunds will be pro-rated after start of camp; however, if child
attends a portion of a week, charges will be for a full week and the balance of any additional weeks
may be refunded. All medical refund requests must be made within two (2) camp days of withdrawal
from camp.
TRANSFERS: A $25 processing fee for transfer requests from one camp to another may be made
before June 3rd. No camp transfers will be allowed after that time. All transfer requests must be made
in writing to the Camp Office.
SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPERS: To determine if your child is ready for an inclusion environment,
please consider the following:
• Both structured and unstructured activities are offered and require the camper to demonstrate
independent leisure skills and self-initiation of activities.
• Must be able to maintain personal care without support of camp staff or volunteers.
• The environment is highly stimulating and is conducive to individuals who can maintain appropriate
self-control with minimal redirection, intervention, and prompting or cueing.
• Maintain self-control (anger management).
Camp Boca reserves the right to determine if our programs are appropriate for your child.
CHILD CARE DEDUCTIBLE: Child care may be tax deductible in accordance with tax laws. Please
hold on to all receipts you are given. The City of Boca Raton Tax ID # is: 59-6000279.
MEDICATION POLICY: Please contact Camp Administration at 561-393-7888 or [email protected].
MEDICAL INSURANCE: Summer Day Camp insurance is in excess of your insurance and is subject
to a $100.00 deductible per claim and a maximum of $2,000.00 per incident. If any injury occurs and
results in a claim being made under the Summer Day Camp insurance policy, the incident must be
reported to the Camp Administrator (561-393-7888) within 24 hours of injury.

Field Tri
OPEN HOUSE: An Open House for Traditional Camps, Traditional Plus Camp, Week-to-Week Camps,
and ‘Tween Camp will be held at respective sites on Saturday, June 11th from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM. This is
your opportunity to meet camp staff, have any questions answered, pick up schedules and t-shirts, and review
and complete the Camper’s Code of Conduct. There is NO Open House for Extended Camp, Gumbo Limbo
Environmental Camp, Beach Volleyball, Ocean Adventure Sea Program, Surf School, Kayaking, Junior
Lifeguard, Fishing, Baseball, Itty Bitty Baseball, Crazy Games, Tennis, or Golf.
CAMP ATTIRE: The camp t-shirts for the field trip camps will still be
DAILY SCHEDULES: Traditional, Traditional Plus, ‘Tween Camps, Week-to-Week Camp, and Extended
Camps will be open at 7:30 AM each day (Monday through Friday). The City will not be responsible for any child
prior to 7:30 AM. Active programming will take place from 9:00 AM- 4:00 PM. Supervised low-organizational
games and activities will take place from 7:30 AM- 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM- 5:30 PM. After 9:00 AM, the child
must be walked to the Camp Office. Campers will participate in outdoor activities daily. Bag lunch (including
beverage) should be brought by camper each day unless otherwise noted on the weekly schedule. Snacks or
monies to purchase snacks are optional. Change will not be given at any of the sites.*Please check schedule
daily so that your child is properly prepared. A late fee will be charged after 5:30 PM at a rate of $5.00
for the first 15 minutes & $10.00 for every 15 minutes there-after. The City of Boca Raton will not be
responsible for lost items. Valuables, large sums of money, or electronics of any kind are not permitted
in camp at any time. Cellular phone use will not be permitted at any of the City of Boca Raton camp
sites. Children may not be picked up off-campus.
CAMP STAFF: All camp counselors and related camp staff hired by the City of Boca Raton are over 18 years
red this year. Daily Attire: Camp t-shirts and sneakers are ALWAYS
required; hats and sunscreen for outdoor activities. The City does not
supply or apply sunscreen. Please leave all valuables at home. The City has a camp dress code policy, and
the Director of the camp has the authority to address this issue. Additional t-shirts may be purchased for $8.00
each. Swimming Attire: On days when appropriate, swimsuits, towels, sandals or flip-flops must be packed in
a beach bag, plastic bag, or backpack. Please label all of your child’s belongings.

staff member is certified in First Aid and EpiPen practices and are also CPR/AED certified. All camp staff must
complete training session prior to camp start date where they are advised of all aspects of camp policies and
procedures.
DISCIPLINE: All campers must be able to interact in a positive manner in a group setting. Those unable to do
so will be asked to leave the program. To promote good behavior among all campers, a discipline policy is in
effect in all camp programs. A Camper’s Code of Conduct will be distributed at the Open House for child and
parent signatures. Each camp has an additional separate discipline policy that must be adhered to.
CAMP CLOSING: Please be aware that severe weather or natural disasters may require cancellation of camp.
There is no camp on July 4th.

Gumbo
At Gumbo Limbo Summer Camp, children and teens will be immersed in the native world around them through outdoor fun and
hands-on activities! Games at the beach, dipnetting in the lagoon, and cane-pole fishing are just a few of the outdoor adventures that
bring our campers back year after year. Older campers learn to canoe and teens take a boat trip to Peanut Island. In addition to
morning sessions, we will have 3 weeks of afternoon sessions (same activities, so choose either AM or PM). Don’t let your child or
teen miss out on an amazing and educational summer camp experience they’ll never forget! Sign up early to save your space for
either a morning or afternoon session of fun and learning with Gumbo Limbo!
Camp shirt, sneakers, healthy snack/drink, and a refillable water bottle required daily (please label all items); hat, bug repellant, and sunscreen recommended for all outdoor activities; parents will be notified if special attire/equipment is required
for certain activities. There is no Open House for Gumbo Limbo Camp. Drop-off and pick-up will be in the Lab building unless
otherwise specified.
In addition, Session 4 participants need to pack a lunch.

For young fashionistas who want to learn to design and sew their own clothing. Start to
explore sewing while learning to make a simple garment or accessory. Different projects
allow students to enhance their skill levels.
Hip hop, tumbling, sport games, theatre games, arts & crafts, water play,
themed dress up days and pizza party every week!
Lego Robotics is that art of learning to build and program (code) machines out of Legos.
Using a special set of Lego Bricks and a curriculum that was specially designed for
our campers, your child will learn how to build and program (code) robots in a
collaborative, team-oriented environment.
In a collaborative, team-oriented environment, campers will be encouraged to design,
construct and program their unique robots, using a special set of Lego bricks.
NOTE: Though it is not required, it is recommended that your child take
Lego Robotics as a prerequisite.
Using a 3D printer along with a special set of Lego bricks and a “Minecraft” curriculum
developed especially for them, campers will experience hands-on computer programming
in a team setting environment and challenge their imaginations. NOTE: Though not
required, it is suggested that your child take Master Builders as a prerequisite.

be writing at writer’s camp! Spend your afternoons writing stories, books,
fairy tales and more.
Get your Lego on! Film making crews will work together with a REAL film maker to create
a stop-motion animation film that is sure to rival the works of Hollywood’s most talented.
Small crews will storyboard, script, build, design, capture and add sound effects, titles,
voices and music, culminating in your own action packed film!
Rock on with The Director’s Cut this summer! Make your own music video, styled after your favorite
artist. Our pro film makers will be here to mentor the how to behind making your very own music
video, including cinematography, editing, camera angles and shooting techniques. Participants will
also design web pages, social media feeds and posters to advertise their music videos.
Unleash your inner Spielberg this summer! Film making crews will work together with a
REAL film maker to create a stop-motion animation film that is sure to rival the works of
Hollywood’s most talented. Small crews will storyboard, script, build. design, capture and

It’s going to be a blockbuster summer at The Director’s Cut with our NEWLY designed film
workshop. Use GO PRO ACTION cameras, HD cameras and the latest digital equipment and
hardware to film and edit your next big blockbuster. Participants will storyboard, write a script,
learn all about camera angles and cinematography, before filming and editing their movies.
What kids do when their Specialty Program is over at Sugar Sand - join in the fun until
5:30 daily as kids relax, play team games, play outside and have field day activities.

Campers get to experience a unique hands on approach to marine
science while learning and mastering new watersports like snorkeling,

and set sail onboard a 55ft sailing catamaran to snorkel Florida’s pristine
coral barrier reef. Each week is filled with different projects, crafts and

Join us for a great week of fishing and a chance to catch a trophy fish!! Participants will
learn how to tie different knots, bait a hook, how to identify different fresh and salt
water fish in Florida and learn about water safety. Fishing equipment such as rods, bait,
etc. will be provided. A fishing tournament will take place on the last day of the program
followed by an awards ceremony. All participants will receive a t-shirt, daily prizes, rod/
reel to keep, daily snack and a medal during end of week awards ceremony. We release
all caught fish. This camp is limited to the numbers of campers so please sign up soon!

This program is for beginners as well as the seasoned ball player. We will challenge, teach
and entertain your young athlete. This academy will teach proper base-running, throwing and
receiving skills, infield and outfield skills, hitting techniques and more. Participants will be
broken up into 2 age groups. Junior all-stars ages 7-9 and senior all-stars ages 10-13.
The week will end by playing an annual “World Series” game followed by an awards
ceremony where every camper receives a medal and t-shirt
