Low toxicity. Use safe work practices to avoid eye or skin exposure and inhalation.

Low irritant. Over exposure may result in mucous membrane irritation
of the nose and throat with coughing.
First Aid
In all cases of suspected poisoning seek medical advice immediately. In the interim the
following first aid measures are appropriate.

Swallowed:
If large quantities have been swallowed give 1 or 2 glasses of fluids to
dilute (if conscious) –seek medical attention
Eye:
Immediately flush with gentle stream of water until irritation gone –
seek medical attention.
Skin:
Wash effected area with water and then soap and water, if it causes
an irritation. Wash hands thoroughly before eating.
Inhaled:
If ill effects occur, remove to fresh air –keep warm and quiet and seek
medical attention.

PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Exposure Limits:
Exposure limits (TWA) 10mg/m3 respirable dust as dolomite,
0.2mg/m3 as quartz
Ventilation
Do not inhale dust/powder. Use with adequate natural
ventilation. Where a dust inhalation hazards exists, mechanical
extraction ventilation is recommended.

Storage, Transportation & Handling
Store in cool, dry, well ventilated area. Ensure containers/packages are adequately labelled,
protected from physical damage and sealed when not in use. Should not be stored near
aluminium in powder form or near phosphorous.
Not regulated for transport purposes.

Spills and Disposal
If spilt (bulk), wear dust-proof goggles, PVC/rubber gloves, and a class P1 (Particulate)
respirator where a dust inhalation risk exists. Collect and place in seal able containers for
disposal. Avoid generating dust.
Small spills: Wash down drill with plenty of water.
Large spills: Sweep up majority of spill, remainder to be washed down drain with plenty of
water.
Waste disposal; collect and place in seal able containers and dispose of to an approved
landfill site.
Fire and Explosion
Non flammable. May evolve toxic fumes in a fire. Remain upwind and notify those
downwind of hazard.
Environmental Precautions
Avoid washing excessive amounts into streams and waterways. Always use
recommendations as outlined in the New Zealand Fertiliser manufacturers research
association “Code of practice for Fertiliser Use”
