1. Hand in all needed paperwork for employment. New Staff: New Staff Packet Returning Staff: Update current information 2. If requesting an Assistant, Assistant must go thru confirmation process: Confirmation by AD and paperwork must be completed before they start 3. Request Practice Times with AD 4. Confirm Athlete Roster Form and give back to AD 5. Send out Informational Email to Parents: “cc” AD in all communications: (AD will provide coaches with the needed email listings of the Athletes/Parents) Introduce yourself State your expectations for the team Communicate practice times Email Game Schedule with it becomes available 6. Schedule a “Parent Meeting” with your team: Hand out Athlete Expectations Hand out Sports Rules (GRACEAC.com) Hand out Uniform/Appearance Guild lines Sheet (GRACEAC.com) 7. Uniforms: Hand out Uniforms at the beginning of the season Fill out “Uniform Spread Sheet” and hand in to AD Collect all Uniforms at the end of the season and give to AD (in order to be paid for coaching, all uniform need to be collected first) 8. Equipment/Equipment Room: If you are in need of anything, let the AD know Please keep the equipment room nice and tidy 9. First Aid: Pick up First Aid Kit from AD First Aid Kits need to be taken to every game Injuries need to be written up and given to AD ASAP. AD needs to follow up on the injury within 24 hours. (Injury forms are located inside of the First Aid Kit) 10. Eligibility: Principle/Teachers will communicate with AD Eligibility concerns. AD in turn will communicate any needed information to the Coach 11. Games/Schedules: Games- Your team will be scheduled 8 games per season. Schedules- AD will email schedules to the coaches ASAP. Please look them over and if there are any Questions, please let AD know It is the coach’s responsibility to hand out or email out schedule to Athletes/Parents Cancelled Games- AD will be in constant communication in game cancellation situations. It is the AD’s responsibility to reschedule games GRACEAC Hotline Number- 616-456-9563 12. Game Rules:/Appearance Guidelines: Rules- Please become familiar with all the Game Rules. These rules are listed on the GRACEAC website: GRACEAC.com Game Situation Rule Questions- Please approach the Referee/Umpires with rule questions first. The “Score Table” will provide a written copy of the rules (indoor sports) First Aid Boxes will have rules provided for the “outdoor sports” Appearance Guidelines- It is the coach’s responsibility to make sure that the Appearance Guidelines are being enforced 13. Athlete/Parent –disappointed/unhappy/frustrated Athletes and or Parents: Please use the “24 hour cool down time” rule before contacting the appropriate person. If an Athlete has a concern, they are asked to come to you the coach first. If the athlete/coach situation does not get resolved, then please communicate with the AD If a Parent of an Athlete has a concern, they are asked to come to you the coach first. If the situation has not been resolved, now the AD should get involved ****If they have talked with the AD first, the AD will in turn ask them to talk to you first to see if it could be resolved. If not AD should become involved.
